Olivia Benson and Rafael Barba

The Question PART ONE

Haven't updated this in a while.
I was going to write a Christmas one but there are far better ones out there. So I've skipped to new years eve.

"Morning beautiful. How are you?" Rafael said after he kissed his girlfriend on her neck. "I want to go out tonight. Can we get Lucy to stay with Noah?"

"Yeah okay. Can it just be us?"  Olivia askes wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest.

"Yeah it was before the party and that was like months ago. Plus it is new years eve."

"It feels like Christmas was ages ago even though it was only days. Has my present come yet? I know you couldn't get it for Christmas."

Truth is Rafael already had his gift but after the hectic Christmas day and there was never a proper moment to themselves so as soon as Olivia asked about it just being them, it was music to Rafael's ears.
"Yeah I managed to get it yesterday. It went to my mother's for some reason. I wish you didn't have to work today." He said before he kissed her lips.

"I know me too babe. I'd love to enjoy the festive period with you and Noah without work."

"Me too. Speaking of Noah where is he?"

"He's in his room watching a DVD he got for Christmas. It's like a box set thing I think."

"Okay. What time are you in work till?"

"5pm."

"Okay. Here's the plan. I'll call my mother to ask her to look after Noah . The fireworks aren't as bad on new years there. I'll pick you up with Noah at half 5 unless you get called into a case or anything. Then we can go see my mom and head home and you can wear that dress with the back missing. We can meet the reservations at 7pm. I was banking on you saying yes so I booked us a table."

"You had this one all planned out."

"No, I just knew you say yes. You hated that party it was uncomfortable. I miss going to dinner with you babe."

"Me too Raf it's just been so hectic for the past few months."

"I know babe. Hopefully this next year will be better."

"I'll drink to that." He said picking up his coffee and taking a sip. Olivia laughs at him.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you too. I won't be loved by the team though if I am late."

"You still have an hour."

"And I haven't showered yet."

"Fair enough. Go I'll finish lunch for Noah."

Olivia kissed him and told him what he was having. "Go liv. I've got this." He says with a chuckle.

After 20 minute shower Olivia heads to the bedroom to get ready. She pulls her dress out for tonight, not bothered that Rafael will see it. She spends time with Noah watching the rest of his DVD and then she kisses him goodbye and also tells him the plan. Noah is excited to spend time with Lucia and Olivia is sure that Lucia will be excited to see him.

Meanwhile Rafael is on the call to his mother he tells her that they are going out and what he plans to do. Lucia agrees to look after Noah and He gets off the call with his mum just as Olivia is shutting the door.

"He's looking forward to seeing your mum."

"She's looking forward to see him."

"Alright babe I'm gonna go... I need to beat the traffic and it's lunch time."

He walks over to his girlfriend and helps her with her jacket. "I love you. Be careful."

"I will thanks Raf."

"You don't have to thank me. I'd do anything for you, you and that boy in his room mean the world to me."

"You mean the world to us too Rafael."

Gonna end this one here as it is getting long. This is a part one to this and the next chapter will follow directly on to it.
