"Delivery for a Miss Fields?" An unknown voice calls out. With furrowed brows, I gently set the books back inside the battered cardboard box and approach the bushy bearded man who was straining his neck to look above the overwhelmingly large bouquet of flowers. "Miss Fields?"

"Yes - sorry. That's me." I mutter, thanking him quietly beneath my breath as he hands me the glossy box carefully. I immediately slide it onto of the desk, unable to see above or around the arrangement. "Sorry, but who are these from?"

He shrugged his shoulder lightly. "Sorry ma'am, I only deliver."

I thank him again as he makes a quick exit, giving the fiery redhead a beaming grin as she glides past him with a cheeky smirk and exaggerated hair toss.

Her eyes went wide. "Lordy," Sapphire whistles, hiking the box further up her arms to stop it slipping. "I'm clearly searching in the wrong places because there certainly isn't anybody like Jason on tinder that's for sure."

I laugh at her as I slip the glossy card from the golden envelope, tucked between beautiful pink lilies and gypsophlia.

I'm so proud of you.

"Ooo!" Julian hoots as he too, almost falls through the office door with folders piled to his chin. "I need not ask who they are from. You must be doing something right."

"Behave." I laugh. "He's just congratulating me on the office opening."

"Ah-ha!" Sapphire exclaims loudly. "That reminds me."

She throws back her waist length curls and rummage around in the pool of boxes, cussing beneath her breath at each wrong one she reaches into before retrieving the dark bottle of bubbles.

"We need to toast!"

"We don't even have a glass." I laugh as she expertly pops the Cork without allowing any foam to escape. Not her first time, clearly.

"Who needs a glass?" She grins, thrusting the bottle towards me. "Here's to you. Your independence, your dreams and your boss-ass team."

I give them both a pointed look and erupt into laughter at their wide grins. Tilting my head back, the glorious fruity taste rushes down my throat and makes a shiver run down my spine.

"Dear lord, forgive me for drinking at not even ten."

"Its five o'clock somewhere, right?" Sapphire winks before taking a swig and clicking her fingers. "That's it! Pablos, tonight at eight. Up for it? You can even bring Mr softy and any friends he may have. Single preferably."

"You mean, who has a heartbeat and a penis?" Julian jibes and pokes his tongue out at her reflexive swipe at his arm.

"No I mean - " she pauses in her tracks. "- fuck it. You win." Julian gives a large, satisfied grin. "Whatever. Are you in or not?"

"I don't know." I drawl, shifting back to the pool of different size boxes that I was slowly sorting through. Sapphire let's put a dramatic groan, her heeled boots clicking after me with melodramatic, sluggish steps.

"Please!" She begs, the jangling of her bracelets banging together and she squeezes both hands beneath her chin. "Please, please, please! I'll even have you back before ten!"

I laugh. "You sound like you're taking me on a date and giving my parents curfew."

She raises one brow with a suggestive smirk. "I mean, I've never tried it that way but if you're willing to tell Jason you're batting for the other team, then I'm in."

"If only you were men." Julian sighs and we laugh at him.

"So? Just one - maybe two, or three if you're really feeling yourself." She teases. I roll my eyes, placing the three books neatly on the floating shelf and right beside the small succulent plant I promised myself I wouldn't kill. "Please?"
