Lights they blind me

Your face is dimly lit purple from the fixture nearby

Your glasses reflecting my face and each individual light bulb

I'm smiling real big but we already knew that I mean

I've never looked directly at you without one bigger than the sun

Yet you're oblivious to it all including when I run my hands through your hair

Especially when I call you cute saying I don't know what I would do without you

And I know exactly how life would be without you I just simply don't want it that way

You smile back just cause you're enjoying how our time is being spent

Looking at art displays programmed to light up a certain way in the heart of old Toronto

You tell me you could probably code one of these things yourself and you're right

There are so many things I could imagine you being able to do that there's nothing in this world to stand in your way

I mean either than me being in front of you right now being surprised you're actually enjoying yourself

Because you've been quiet this whole time looking at me now and then and

I just think it's cause you're bored and waiting to say something to me about leaving

But that's not why you're looking that's never why you're looking

You just keep on glancing back to make sure I'm enjoying myself too
