As I get out of my carriage and thank the carriage driver, he speeds off without warning almost taking off my foot. I walk around my new semi permanent home, Halifax. I'm a college student studying anatomy and psychology yes I know its weird that a female is in college but I want to break the stigma around females not going to college. I walk around my new home taking in the sights of England. I notice someone, a women in men's clothing even with a top hat and cane and a shorter woman beside her it appears they are going to get into the carriage the women motions 'in' and the women gets into the carriage without a word. I stop and watch from afar. The women catches my eye and holds contact for a few minutes and winks and smiles at me before getting in and closing the carriage door. The carriage driver drives off. I walk to my college which is 50 minutes away from Shibden Hall, funny right? As I walk to my college i spot my best friend Ann Barker.
Ann's POV
Hey! how are you? you ready for the semester to end? and our first and last days here in a few years?she says as we walk to our lockers which are right beside each other. I grab my books an rubric that our professor made a while back and walk to class as we part our ways I go to my class unexpectedly I see the same women I saw before. I remembered her name Anne Lister. As I look towards her direction I can hear my classmates are starting to talk about her. I pick up on a few words their saying. But one word that struck me was my name. She takes notice of my reaction and quiets down the chatter coming from the people in the room.
