Madi ran downstairs in her new dress when the doorbell rang. She expected it to be her friends as she flung open the door without looking through the window first, like her parents wanted her to. Her parents were away at some work thing and her little brother was at a sleepover, so she had the house to herself for her party. When she looked outside, there was no one there. She opened the screen door, stepped outside and looked around. There was no one there and nowhere for anyone to hide if someone was out there. As she turned to go back inside, she noticed a small package leaning against the side of the house right next to the door. She turned and looked around her front yard one more time before grabbing the package. There was still no one there. She thought she saw a shadow behind one of the bushes along the road, but she just blamed it on her imagination. She grabbed the package and went back up to her room. There, she really looked at the package. It was a small box about a foot long on each side. The box was pretty beat up and covered in clear packing tape like it had been used over and over many times. She slowly opened it and peaked inside. There was a note on top of another small box. This box was much nicer looking. Almost new. The note was typed, just like the one she had found on her bed that afternoon. It said 'Be ready at midnight. Wear these.' Madi still couldn't figure out if this was a prank or not. She opened the box and inside was a small plastic bag with a contact lense and some kind of bracelet. She took them out and set the boxes next to her on the bed. The contact lense didn't look like a normal one. She didn't want to put it in early, so she moved onto the bracelet. The bracelet was black and a few inches wide but thin. She put it on and it fit perfectly. She ran her finger along the bracelet, which was perfectly smooth. At her touch, it lit up and projected a screen above her wrist. The screen was about a foot long and half a foot tall. It looked like the login screen of a computer. The username was filled in. It said Madi5712. The password was blank. Not wanting to mess anything up, she brushed her fingers along the same spot as last time and the screen disappeared. She took the bracelet off and put it back in the box along with the contact lense. She added those to the backpack, slipped the older box under her bed in the farthest corner, and finished getting ready for her party.
