Just as she put the final touches on her makeup, Madi heard the doorbell. She ran down the stairs and this time, looked out the window before opening the door. It was actually her friends this time. She flung the door open and was met with a wave of cheers and "Happy Birthday"s from her friends. Madi shoved the thoughts of the box and note to the back of her mind and promised herself a night of fun before whatever was happening at midnight.
