Astrid could barely control the toothy grin that dominated her mouth, crimson painted lips upturned into a dazzling smile that almost reached her eyes.
She was practically radiating the happiness she truly felt, hand linked with Nik's as he gently led her to their seats, with Rebekah trailing behind her, rather shiftily- which Astrid put down to first date nerves.
It felt as everything had finally set into place, Marcel and Rebekah- with hers and Nik's permission, had decided to become public with their relationship, and Astrid couldn't have been happier for the two.
At the thought of her baby, Astrid's curious eyes flickered around her. He had yet to arrive, it wasn't like Marcel to be late, or to stand up a woman as beautiful as Rebekah.
Astrid assumed something had come up, which Marcel would swiftly solve and return to the theatre.
Fortunately, the balcony she'd reserved meant Marcel's seat wouldn't be taken and wouldn't have to be resolved with compulsion, or in Nik's case; deadly threats.
Astrid just hoped he wouldn't miss too much of the event. The orchestra playing was extremely popular, touring all across the world.
Elijah would soon be arriving, he'd been getting ready and Nik being Nik, had been far too impatient to wait for his brother, snidely making remarks about Elijah's inability to choose between two ties that were merely a shader darker than the other.
The crowd; humans, wolves, witches and vampires alike were eagerly conversing, finding their seats before the show started.
Tonight's premiere was the talk of the town, and it seemed everyone with a name was in attendance.
Barely able to suppress the smile that coated her stained crimson lips, Astrid squeezed Nik's hands affectionately.
At the sudden pressure, Nik glanced back at her, as if he was checking she was okay.
His own lips lifted into a grin when he realised how ecstatic Astrid appeared.
She was practically glowing. She'd been looking forward to attending the opera for the past week now, even more so now that Marcel and Rebekah would be accompanying them on their first public date.
As the descended up the golden staircase, Astrid allowed Nik to navigate them to their private booth, glancing back at Rebekah who appeared uneasy.
Despite the powder that was pressed onto her face, she looked rather pale, queasy even.
Before Astrid could turn to question the blonde, Nik pulled her into the booth, arm winding around her waist as he sat down in one of the cushioned seats.
Rebekah trailed slowly after them, sitting at Astrid's other side.
Shuffling the fur coat off gently, Astrid rolled her shoulders, draping it over the chair as Nik turned to his wife.
