~15 Years Ago~

Augustus Steele's P.O.V

I was driving home from work, I run a prison for monsters such as Zombies, Werewolves, just freaks in general. As I was driving I noticed something on the side of the road. I slowed to a stop and got out of my car. when I looked down I saw a pile of pink blankets at first I thought it was just something someone left on the side of the road until I heard a cry I walked over slowly and saw a baby with a tag that just said 'Hale'. She wouldn't stop crying, so I picked up the small baby and held her to my chest she didn't look more than a month old. She eventually stopped crying I looked down at her and saw Shiny Hazel eyes and a patch of snow-white hair. It didn't seem like she had a first name only a surname which I assume is 'Hale' since it was written on her tag that was around her neck. "You need a name, don't you? What about (Y/N)?" The little baby smiled. "You like that name do you?" She started to giggle. I walked back to my car and got in since I didn't have a car seat I held in my lap and drove with one hand. As I was driving I couldn't help but feel sorry for the little baby being left in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. When I got home I unlocked the door and called to my wife "Nancy you will never believe what I found coming home. As she walked around the corner she saw me holding the little baby. "Oh my god, Augustus where did you find her?" she asked in shock. "I found her on the side of the road in nothing but a bundle of blankets," I said. "What?! Oh my god, she could have died out there it's cold and not safe for a baby at her age. She can't be any older than a month." She said worried about the little girl in my arms. "We could go to court and claim her as our own tomorrow." I suggested. She nodded. "Okay I love you. I am beat I'm gonna go to bed I will see you in the morning, My Love." I said pecking Nancy on the lips. As I did my nightly routine I thought about how our live are going to change from here on out. I got into bed and fell asleep with the little baby on my chest.

~10 Years Ago~

Nancy Steele's P.O.V

It has been an amazing five years since we adopted the baby that Augustus found on the side of the road. We decided to name her (Y/N). She is now 5 years old and has no idea about the horrors of our world. She doesn't know about the prison Augustus runs. I hope she never has to find out about what goes on in the world that we try to protect her from. "(Y/N), come here sweetheart." I called for her. She came running around. "Yes, Momma?" She asked innocently. I smiled down at her, go get dressed honey we are going to go see Daddy at work." I told her smiling. After I had made her breakfast, got (Y/N) dressed and got her in the car and to the prison it was about ten-thirty in the morning. I hope nothing is going on in here that will scare (Y/N). "Momma what's this place for?" She asked. I didn't know what to tell her, I was panicking I looked up and saw Augustus walking towards us. Hoping it would distract her I told her he was walking towards us. "Look baby it's Daddy!" She smiled and ran towards him. "Daddy!!" as she got closer to him she jumped and he caught her. "Hey baby, how's my little princess doing this morning?" He asked her. I walked up to them. "I've been good. What do you do here Daddy?" She asked. "I looked at Augustus worried what he would tell her. "Well, help keep the people in our town safe from dangerous people." He explained. (Y/N) looked at him for a few moments and then she smiled and said "Okay daddy." He put her down and then looked at me. "We need to tell her eventually what really goes on here." He told me. I looked at him like he was crazy "Are you insane? She is 5 year old Augustus she is far too young to know about the horrors of our world." I told him. She is going to find out sooner or later Nancy. Better to do it now so she will grow use to it and now find out the easy way rather than the hard way." He told me. I looked down and thought over it. "Can we at least wait until she is a little older, please?" I asked. "Fine we will tell her when she is ten" He said. I nodded and agreed to his offer. I looked at (Y/N) and smiled.
