Ally

"Okay, so we need a plan. I bet I could dump chocolate pudding all over her and then threaten her to leave Austin alone," Trish said while pacing the practice room.

We had the door locked because Austin tried to interrupt us about 20 minutes ago.

"Trish, we don't need to prank or threaten her. Just let Austin be happy. Her shift should be ending in like 5 minutes. My dad said he'll take over, so we have the afternoon to just do nothing," I reasoned.

"Okay, but you FINALLY realized your feelings for Austin and this is how the universe repays you? That's sick," Trish ranted.

"Trish, you know what the school counselor said about you ranting about the universe," I scolded.

She sighed, "Yeah, wanna watch TV for a bit?"

"Sure."

No sooner than I stood up, there was a rather loud pounding on the door.

"Go away, Austin!" I shouted.

A different voice however answered, "It's not Austin, Ally Dawson. Now unlock the door before I fire your ass!"

I gasped because I hate it when people swear, and ran over to unlock the door.

"Just F.Y.I. Alana, you can't fire me. I practically own this place because I do more work here than my dad." I explained calmly.

"Do you have an assigned position in the store."

"No, but—"

"Then you work under me. You will not close or lock this door ever, and on the job, you will only talk to customers. Speaking of which, go start your shift."

"My dad said that he is coming, so I can have an afternoon off before he leaves for the National Flute Convention this weekend."

"Too bad, get down there. And remember, NO FRIENDS!"

I ran downstairs to find my dad at the counter.

"Hey, Alls," he said with a smile. "How are you liking Alana?"

"About that," I started.

"Hi Mr. Dawson!" Alana screamed from the top of the stairs. She ran down them and stood by me in front of my dad. "Ally and I were talking, and we would like to volunteer to work while you pack for the convention this weekend."

"Well I already promised Ally a day off."

"Nonsense, right Ally?" I stood there not saying a word.

"Well I guess you girls can watch the store until closing time. I do need to pack some extra things. I'm leaving tomorrow at 6, so tomorrow you can close early. Then Saturday will be the normal mall hours. I'll see you Ally later and you Alana tomorrow. Bye, girls!" He left and I turned and glared at Alana.

"You just ruined my first day off in a month!" I screamed at her.

"Well maybe it's a warning for you to stay away from my new soon-to-be boyfriend. By the way, we're going on a date in about five minutes, so have fun watching the store." She walked out and I watched her greet Austin with a fake smile and a hug by the food court.

Thankfully, Dez chose this moment to walk in, and Trish decided to come out of the practice room.

"Who was the hottie Austin snagged?" Dez asked and Trish slapped his arm.

"That's Ally's new personal tormentor you dolt!" she yelled at him.

"Trish don't be mean. She wants to believe that she's my boss because she probably has control issues like Trish," I said sadly.

"Hey!" Trish shouted. "Wait, never mind."

"Whatever, well here comes some customers. I'm officially not allowed to talk to you guys."

I had to deal with some very annoying customers all while thinking about what Austin and Alana could possibly be doing right now on their date.
