When Josie is injured in a fight against a monster, Hope is forced to feed her blood to the Saltzman sister to heal her. However, this turns out to be a huge mistake when they lose the fight and Josie is killed. From then on her life changes completely when Hope's blood brings her back and makes her a heretic. Alaric and Lizzie are glad that Josie is well and close their eyes completely to what happened to her. Only Hope recognizes the effects, but also realizes that suddenly a bond has been formed between Josie and her that she could not explain.
