"We learn from failure, not from success."

Chapter Three.

~Kennedy's POV~

The lady smiles at me as I take a seat in front of the mirror. I can see the look in her eyes though. She knows how bad my hair looks she just doesn't want to say anything about it.

"I'm Miranda." She says rearranging some hair products on the counter.

"Kennedy." I say fiddeling with my fingers nervously. What if she can't fix my hair and I end up looking like a troll forever.

"What are we doing today?" Miranda asks me while examining my hair. I unlock my phone and pull up the picture I saved to it of the color I wanted. She nods when I show her and then goes to the back to get what she needs to fix the mess I made.

Caleb starts playing with a pair of scissors and he chases Noah around the salon with them. I roll my eyes, something I seem to do a lot when I'm around them. "Boys knock it off." I groan not wanting Miranda or anyone else to see these two idiots act like five year olds.

"Buzz kill." Noah mutters and I throw a comb at him. I'm not a buzz kill. Why does everyone keep saying that?

Miranda comes back with the dye and I smile at her. Time to show these people that I'm not a buzz kill and I'm not boring.

The dye is cold at first but once it's all in my hair I get used to it but it's hard to get used to smell. I scrunch my nose and try to only breath through my mouth.

"I'm hungry." Caleb complains for the fifth time within ten minutes.

"Then go eat and please take your ape with you." I say motioning to Noah who smiles at me and then flips me off when Caleb isn't looking. We glare at eachother until Caleb announces that he wants pizza and then the boys leave me alone in the salon.

I play games on my phone for a while and when it's time to rinse out the dye the boys still have not returned.

"Ready?" Miranda asks me. I nod and sit at the sink for her to rinse my hair. She managed to scratch my head six times with her long nails and she complained when she chipped her nail polish. "Now we blow dry and style it." She seems so excited where as I'm nervous. Last time I blew dry my hair it didn't go as planned as we can all tell by my orange hair.

I keep my eyes closed the whole time Miranda dries my hair and brushes it. "Ok ready for the big reveal?" She asks setting the brush down. I nod slowly and open my eyes.

My hair is no longer orange but a dark red color. It looks just like that picture I showed her and I love it. (Picture of Kennedy and her new hair on the side)

I smile and stand up. "Thank you so much." I hand her the money for fixing it and then sit in a waiting chair and wait for the boys to return. When they walk through the door they both have a slice of pizza in their hands.

"Hey Kennedy." Caleb says and then stops when he sees my hair. Chewing my lip nervously I wait for his verdict. "Nice." He says picking up a strand and twirling it around his finger.

"Thanks, I hope you guys got food for me too." I smile cheekily and his eyes widen.

"About that." He scratches the back of his neck and glances at Noah. I turn to look at Noah who is looking very suspicious.

I take a deep breath. "You did not eat my food." Narrowing my eyes I walk towards him. Simply shrugging his shoulders I know I must be right.

Before he realizes what's happening I swiftly take his pizza from his hand and take a bite with a smirk on my face. He looks completely shocked and I can't help but laugh at him. Outwitted by a girl.
