Chapter Eight
~Kennedy's POV~
I didn't speak or see Noah for three days after the lunch incident. He was extremely busy with basketball lately and with Caleb not allowed to play for a while, they didn't hang out before and after practice.
I was beginning to believe that the whole thing didn't happen but it did.
Saturday morning came around and when I woke up I had two texts from Noah.
Come to my place today 4 evil plotting
@ Noon
I groan and get out of bed. I can't believe I'm about to spend my Saturday with Noah. I grimace at the thought of how the day will go. What new nicknames and insults he has come up with.
Taking my sweet time to get ready I take a nice hot shower and blow dry my hair. While my hair straightener is heating up I decide to wear black, high-waisted, jean shorts and a tight white crop top. I put on white converse and then straighten my natural wavy hair. I apply my usual minimal amount of makeup and then grab my phone and wallet.
Caleb isn't awake yet so I leave a note on the fridge for him saying that I'm at Alana's house.
Luckily for me, Noah doesn't live to far away from my house so the walk is short.
His house is similar to mine but slightly bigger and with a basement. I sigh and make my way to the front door. I procrastinate as long as I can but I know I can't stand in front of his house all day so I knock.
Footsteps can be heard shuffling towards the door and Noah opens it. He's standing in front of me with just a pair of dark jeans on and some white socks, no shirt. I avert my eyes from his naked torso and look up at his face.
"You like what you see?" He asks cockily.
I scoff and push past him into the house. "You wish."
He closes the door and I turn to look at him waiting for him to say something. "You're late." He accuses and I look at the time on my phone; 12:03. Rolling my eyes I walk further into his house.
I've only been inside it once and that was for a party last year that Caleb brought me to. I barely remember what it looks like. "So you ready for some evil plotting?" I ask him referring to his text.
He nods and leads me down to the basement. Noah throws himself on to the small couch and spreads out on it. He motions for me to sit as well. I take a place on a blue beanbag chair across from the couch.
Everything is quiet for a few minutes and then he clears his throat. "Ready for my amazing plan?" He asks me. I roll my eyes but nod. "First things first, we will take care of the reason why you want revenge."
"Him cheating on me." I commented nodding my head. He nods along with me and an evil smile plays out on his face.
"You're going to make him jealous." He states proudly like it was the best plan anyone has ever heard.
I immediately objected this. "How am I supposed to do that? I'm single whereas he has a girlfriend." I wait for him to say something and when he doesn't I stand up to leave. "This is a waste of time Noah." I begin heading towards the stairs when his voice stops me.
"Wait! Ken the answer to that is simple. You get a date, flirt right in front of him maybe even kiss a guy and then once he's jealous and wants you back you turn him down in front of a bunch of his lame buddies. Then we eliminate the girlfriend."
"By eliminate I really hope you don't mean kill because I really don't want to go to prison." I make my way back to the beanbag chair I was sitting in. "Oh by the way, I suck at flirting."
--------------------------------
I stomp my foot and groan. "This is so stupid." I then cringe at how whiny I sound.
"Come on, you can do it. Just pretend that I'm a random guy at the mall or something." Noah encourages me.
I look at him uncertainly and then take a deep breath. "Fine."
Casually, I walk up to Noah and try to picture any other guy but him. Maybe Dom Sheerwood cause he's very good looking and his accent is to die for. I stop walking when I'm a good arms length away from him. He rolls his eyes and moves me a bit closer to him so I have to look up to meet his eyes and he has to look down at me.
"Hey." I say awkwardly and put my hands in my back pockets.
"No, stop." Noah interrupts me. "Try twirling a piece of your hair, touch my arm or chest, maybe lean closer. Wink, bat your eyelashes do something. Just don't stand so stiff and awkward."
I try to relax a bit and then try again. "Hey." I smile at him and wrap a piece of my hair around my index finger.
"Hi." Noah says smiling, probably trying not to laugh at me.
"I like your shirt." I declare and then bite my lip trying to look seducing.
He looks down at his bare chest and then back at me. "Are you aware that I'm not wearing a shirt or is that your way of complimenting my abs?"
I glare at him. "I wasn't going to compliment your pants so for the sake of the situation just pretend that you're fully clothed."
Noah puts his hands up in surrender and then motions for me to continue.
We spend the next ten minutes with me attempting to flirt and him correcting me and telling me what to do. By the end of it I'm about to die of embarrassment.
"Come on that wasn't so bad." Noah claims chuckling.
"Easy for you to say. All you had to do was stand there and reply to whatever dumb thing I said. At this rate I'm going to be single for the rest of my life." I sink into the couch cushions after my rant and stare at my hands in my lap.
"Hey, you are not going to be single forever. Even though you may not be the best flirt around you are still pretty, smart, and you have a good personality."
My eyes widen in shock as I look up at him. He has never once since the moment I met him ever said anything like that before to me.
He shrugs. "I can be nice sometimes."
I laugh and shake my head. "So when do we put the plan in action?"
Noah thinks for a minute and then decides on tomorrow. "We could go to the mall and found you some boy to flirt with."
I nod. "Why tomorrow?" I question him curiously.
He grins widely. "Jason works tomorrow."
With that once sentence I understand immediately. Jason works at the food court in the mall. I can flirt right in front of him.
