it felt like this

soft patches of string
knitted together
a pair of mittens
that go on your hand perfectly
it fits just right

and that is how it feels
to feel you again
not a friend of mine, no
not my lover
but my sadness

the moment I feel you
it feels so natural
to slip you on
like a pair of gloves
in the harsh winter
and it takes all of me
to pull you off again

-you are so cold yet you always know how to keep me warm
