The first thing I heard this morning was the alarm on my phone. Today was the day that I started at my new school, Crimson Academy. However, I didn't want to go.
"Rise and shine, Hector." My mother said as she opened the door to my room. "Good morning."
"Morning." I said as I sat up from my bed. "Mom, do I have to go to school?"
"Yes sweetie." She says as she walks over to me. "And don't worry. You'll make a bunch of new friends. Maybe even a girlfriend."
My face went red and I gave her a look that said, "don't".
"Stop it Mom." I say still blushing. "You know I hate it when you talk about that."
"I know, and I'm sorry." She says apologizing. "I know that it's been hard for you since last year."
"Yeah, no kidding." I say thinking about that dreadful time. I feel a chill ho up my spine. "Just thinking about it makes me feel horrible."
"I'm sorry, kiddo." She says putting her arms around me.
I hug her back until she lets go.
"Alright, you need to get ready for school." She says with a grin on her face.
"Fine." I say with a scowl.
"Okay. I'll have your breakfast ready in a few minutes, dear." She says as she walks out if my room.
I groan and lay back down on my bed. I never wanted to attend this school in the first place, but my mom thought that it would be good for me to experience a private school like this one.
I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower. After I finished, I put on my new school uniform. It was very specific with the details. Black dress shoes and socks, black khaki pants with a belt, a collared long sleeve white shirt, a black jacket that had the school logo on it, and a black tie.
Once I got everything out on, I went downstairs to see that my mother had made me eggs and bacon for breakfast.
"My, don't you look handsome." My mom said looking at me.
"Stop." I said back to her.
I sit down at the table and start to eat the breakfast she prepared for me. As usual, my mother's cooking was amazing. I keep telling her that she should open a restaurant, but she keeps on turning me down.
Once I finish my breakfast, it was time for me to hit the road and head over to the school. It was close by and in walking distance. I grabbed my backpack and walked over to the front door.
"Bye Mom." I say as I hug her goodbye.
"Have a great day, sweetie." She says as she lets me go from the hug. "Make some new friends as well."
"I'll try, but that is really hard on the very first day." I say feeling nervous.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine." She says assuring me.
"Thanks Mom." I hug her one more quick time and then I leave my house to go to school.
On the way to school I pass by a house that I could hear someone arguing inside. I decided to ignore it because I knew that people fought all the time. I kept going until I got to the front gate. I thought about turning around and going back home, but my mom would kill me if I did, so I went through instead.
When I got into the school, there didn't seem to be too many people there, but after I walked a little further in, more people started to appear, which made me feel even more nervous. A few of the students looked at me and just stared. It was kinda creepy.
