After gym class was over, I went to the Christianity Club room to tell the others about the shield, or whatever it was. On the way over there, I saw someone walk through the club room door that I never thought I would, my father.
"Why is he here?" I ask myself as I approach the door.
"Do you know him?" Mira says from behind me, freaking me out.
"Don't do that!" I shout at her. "Give people a warning when you do that, but yes, I do know him."
"How so?" Mira asks with a blank expression.
"I can't say right now," I say as I start to remember.
"How come?" Mira asks.
"It's too personal, and too painful," I say as I enter the club room.
When I enter the room, everyone else is there except for Rachel, and my father is talking about me to Carolyn.
"So, where is he?" my father asks them very forcefully.
Carolyn points at me, and my father turns around to see me and his always angry expression hasn't changed since he left.
"What do you want, Dad?" I ask him.
"Nice to see you too, son," my father tells me.
"I'll ask again, what do you want?" I say repeating myself.
"What? Can't a father check in on his son?" my father asks, trying to sound nice and welcoming.
"Not when they run off and avoid their son for over four years," I say as I glare at him.
"I wasn't avoiding you, I was avoiding your mother," my father says. "She's not the easiest person to get along with after what happened."
"Nevertheless, why are you really here?" I ask as I continue to glare at him.
He stays quiet for a moment, until my glare finally breaks him.
"Fine. You got me," he says as he seems to calm down. "I have a favor to ask."
"Which is?" I ask him, getting impatient.
"I need you and your mother to watch over your sister for a few weeks, possibly a few months, while I go find a new job," my father says.
"Of course," I say as I continue to stare at him. "She is always welcome, but you are not."
"And I have no intention of staying," my father says as he starts to walk out of the room. "Your sister will be at your house very soon."
"Okay. Now leave," I strictly say as he leaves.
He walks out of the room, and right as he does, Rachel walks into the room, and she seems confused.
"Who was that?" Rachel asks.
"Nobody important," I reply to her.
"It wouldn't appear that he was Hector's father," Carolyn says to Rachel.
"Carolyn!" I say as I turn to face her.
"They've got issues," Ursa says.
"Hey!" I say as I have the same look as my father did. "That's none of your business!"
"I know that they do," Rachel replies. "Hector told me already."
"Really?" Carolyn says surprised. "When?"
"What? Am I invisible here?" I say trying to get their attention, but they won't listen to me.
"The night Douglas attacked his house," Rachel answers. "He told me that--,"
