Adam POV

        Where the hell are they?

         They're both gone.

        For fuck's sake!

I know Scott took Raine out somewhere. The destination? Well, I haven't got a clue. I know something happened between them, simply because I saw them both coming inside. Raine looked upset, and Scott looked disappointed.

I pace around the room, thinking of the places Scott could've taken Raine. A party? God, I hope not.

Suddenly, the door opens. I quickly whip my glance to them, a smile plastered across both Raine and Scott's face. Their expression drops when they see me. Right now, I feel like a parent - one that's worried about their daughter, or my little sister in my case, going out with her troubled and reckless boyfriend. And that being Scott. Oh, God.

        "Hey, Adam," Scott starts.

        I simply raise an eyebrow.

"Okay, we went out without telling you," Scott starts, looking at Raine who had a worried looked upon her face.

"Yeah," I respond, blunt and annoyed.

"We just went out to the bowling alley," Raine steps in.

"Yet you didn't bother telling me. Nor asking me-"

"Wait a second. You wanted me to ask you if I could go out? What are you, my father?" Raine's attitude changes.

        "Well, no, but-"

"I'm not having this argument right now," Raine heads towards the stairs.

"I'm sorry, but I just got you back..." my voice trails off as I step forward to try to get her attention. She stops in her steps, turning slowly to look at me.

"Even though I'm blood related to you, doesn't mean you can suddenly control every aspect of my life. You have to remember I was living a different life until you stepped foot into it. So don't try to change things around. I've had enough change in my life for the time being," Raine glares at me. Honestly, I was stunned. I've never seen this side of her.

She turns and continues to head up the stairs. Scott looks at me, no expression on his face. He wasn't as nearly as surprised as I was. I knew Raine was strong. I figured she was after keeping her head up for this long.

"Why do you looked shocked?" Scott then asks after a few seconds.

        "Why am I shocked?"

"Yeah, I mean, she acts just like you," Scott states, setting his jacket on the couch. I glance at him. "So straightforward when she needs to be. Hard-headed...like someone I know."

        "I just...I guess you're right."

"Of course I'm right," Scott lands on the couch, grabbing the remote. I walk over, taking the remote out of his grasp. "Okay, you're pissed."

"Of course I'm pissed, Scott," I glare at him. "I told you keep your boundaries. But you didn't listen."

Scott stands up. "Who said that you can control if I be with Raine?"

        "So you are?"

"It doesn't matter," Scott walks off towards the kitchen.

"It does because all you're going to do is break her heart," I trail after him.

"You really think I'm that shady?" Scott glares at me. Now, I thought he knew that he was shady. He's always been that way.

"Yes, I think you're too shady to care about a girl's feelings. And one of those girls is my sister," I respond sharply.

        "Wow."

"I'm not trying to be the guy that everyone hates, Scott. I'm trying to be a good brother and make sure that nothing happens to her," I lower my voice. "You...are the worst thing that could happen to her."

"What the hell?" Scott is offended.

I needed to say it. I need him to know that I'm not okay with him finding interest in my sister. I need him to realize that he's not good for her. Does that make me a bad friend?

"Fuck you, Adam!" Scott pushes past me violently, heading into the living room. I hear his motorcycle keys jingle, followed by the sound of the door opening and slamming. For fuck's sake.

I slump into the dining chair, regretting saying that. I might've just lost my best friend. I can't believe I said that. I can't believe I told my best friend that I don't think he's a good person. I'm a terrible friend. I'm the worst.

I hear footsteps rushing down the stairs, heading towards the door. The door is ripped open and closed again. I shot out of my chair, heading towards the door. I knew it was Raine going after Scott. I get to the front door, hearing the engine of Scott's motorcycle coming to life. I glance at the moving motorcycle with Raine on the back, tightly hugging Scott. They peel out of the driveway, onto the highway.

And now I'm a terrible brother.
