Scott POV

I glance down at Raine, fast asleep in my arms. She looks incredibly peaceful, even more than the last time I fell asleep with her. I yawn, knowing that I haven't gotten a lick of sleep all night. I keep thinking about what she told me. About who she saw standing at the doorway of the arcade during our "make-out" session. She looked terrified. Immediately, being me, I jumped to conclusion.

That's why I'm awake now. I jump at every sudden movement outside of the door, thinking that something is going to happen. Lacey is still on the loose, may I remind you, and has a thirst for revenge. It makes my stomach churn to think that she'll try to hurt Raine...my Raine.

I gently push Raine over, making sure not to wake her. I gather myself to my feet, glancing around the darkened motel room. I feel bad for bringing her here. I turn my glance back to her, seeing her chest rise and fall with each breath taken. I'm glad that we're connected more, yes, but I feel terrible to bring her to a place like this.

I pull a cigarette out of my leather jacket, as well as my AC/DC lighter. I open the door quietly, squeezing out into the cold, crisp air. I light up the cigarette, puffing a cloud of smoke into the night. I need to clear my head.

        What is Lacey's next move?

If she's got people following Raine, what is she planning exactly?

        Get her when she's vulnerable?

        Take her away from me?

Apart of me feels as if I'm being really paranoid, but I feel like being paranoid is necessary at a time like this. I take another hit off of my cigarette, looking down at the fairly lit street. A street light blinked yellow, signaling it must be broken. Not a single car is in sight except for the ones parked at the motel. One of them is the couple that we annoyed earlier. Still makes me laugh.

I sit there, taking another puff of my cigarette, hoping to finally clear my head and eventually get some sleep. I fling my cigarette, when I was finished, down onto the parking lot below. I stalked back inside, closing and locking the door. Raine was still fast asleep, so I joined her. I pulled her closer to me, wrapping my arms around her.

"Hmm," she groans. "Where'd you go?"

"I just went to the bathroom. Go back to sleep," I whispered into her ear, hearing her sigh as she drifts back to sleep.

I'm really glad to have spent this time with her.

"Scott," I hear my name but I don't respond.

"Scott!" I feel a kiss landed on my cheek. I open up my eyes, seeing Raine. A smile flashes across her face.

"I'm up," I rub the sleep out of my eye. I pull my cell phone out of my pocket, seeing many missed calls from Adam. I ignore them all.

"What time is it?" Raine asks.

"Um...it's noon," I respond, looking up at her from my phone.

"Holy crap! We slept that long?"

"I guess so, yeah," I smile, grabbing her waist and pulling her on top of me. At this point, she's straddling me.

"You totally like this, don't you?"

"I definitely don't have a problem with it," I shrug, feeling as she presses her hands on my chest and leans in for a kiss. It was a very intimate kiss, one that made me want more. I push her over, settling myself on top of her delicate body. Her shirt was pulled up a little, exposing more of her stomach than I could handle.

I run my hands along the line of her hips, across her stomach. She arched her back whenever I kissed her neck, a slight moan slipping from my mouth. I intertwined our fingers together above her head, leaving her smiling like crazy. She wraps her legs around my waist, letting my fingers trail down her leg and back up to her exposed side.

Suddenly, knocks sounded like crazy at the door.

I groaned, not wanting to leave this moment. I also wanted to beat the fuck out of whoever was standing at the door for ruining the moment. I peel myself away from Raine, heading towards the door. I swing open the door.

"Do you mind? We're kind of in the middle of-" my voice trails off when I see three cops standing at my door.

"Mr. Richards. You are under arrest," the cop in the middle steps towards me, spinning me back. My hands are pressed around my back.

"What? What the hell for? I didn't do anything," I argued back.

"Mr. Richards, you are under arrest for the murder of Avery and Frank Johnson. Anything you say, can and will be held against you in the court of law," the cop states.

I'm literally petrified. "What? I didn't kill anyone."

"What's going on?" Raine steps forward. My eyes immediately look at her. The cop pushes me away from the open door, towards the steps. "Scott..."

My eyes trail to the caution tape lining around the next room over. In a black bag, a body was wheeled out. Oh, my God. I feel like I'm moving in slow motion. Lacey comes to mind. She set me up. Lacey plotted this whole thing.

"I didn't do it," I edge out of my voice.

"We have an eye witness account that states you walked into the Wilson's room," a police officer tells me as he opens the back door to the squad car.

"What? No, I'm being set up," I argue as they push me into the back. I try to struggle away, but it's three against one.

        "Tell it to the judge."

The squad car door shuts in my face. I glance up to the stairs leading down, watching as Raine is frantically moving in my direction. The three policemen stop her, a petrified look on her face. She struggles to get away as the car begins to move.

        Well, shit.

The car moves out of sight, away from Raine. Lacey got what she wanted. She's getting Raine vulnerable...
