HIGHSCHOOL SWEETHEARTS

Chapter 1

            Adena's  POV
"Adena baby wake up it's time for school you need to get ready in two hours time." I heard Mama's voice yell from down stairs. Always mama used to make us breakfast and by us i mean my brother Cedric and I before we leave for school.

Cedric my brother who is a year and half older than me,comes out as over protective when it comes to me what a lucky ass. It pisses me off sometimes since he kinda kicks off every guy who comes near me except for Jake who is gay. That's really makes me mad since I don't get to date till senior year where he thinks now '1.I will know how to choose between the right guy for me and 2. He doesn't want his baby sister to get a heart break' which I find as a very lame excuse. But all in all he is a guy every girl would wish for a boyfriend and every parent for a son. He sometimes is a pain in the ass.

Before I forget we are four in number that's includes dad, mom, Cedric and I. Cedric happens to be the best friend ever in my world. I don't think there is anyone in the world that matches care and love although I am a bitch sometimes and by this I  mean I am really short tempered and easily offended which I have tried to correct a number of years now. I can remember well there was a day  that I destroyed his date's gown which is am not sorry for.

****Flashback 7 months ago****
It was on August during holiday season when one of my classmates by the name Cate hooked up with my brother, the girl was a bitch in the school and a leader of the cheerleader's team in Redrose highschool where I and my brother used to school.

Am not bragging but we are one of the most prominent families in the town with my dad being a politician. So Cate used to hook up with guys every weekend and this really pissed me off. I remember one afternoon after classes Cedric had pleaded with me to watch him and cheer him up during his game in basket ball. I hesitated but remember anything for my beloved brother.

As the classes were over and headed to the washrooms to check on my looks. Being a lady you know what kind of stuff is done in the washroom ☺️ . I overheard voices of some girls on the other side whispering. Without much attention I realized that one of the girls was Cate my brother's girlfriend.

"I don't love Cedric am only with him to get fame then after that I will just ditch him like any other guy, hahaha." With just those words I felt my body stiffening my eyes watered and my heart was throbbing threatening to break my innocent ribcage. I couldn't imagine that anyone could play with my brother's innocent heart. 'Why could this bitch be so mean to my innocent brother?' the question kept repeating in my mind.

I couldn't take it anymore as she went on saying how my brother was head over heels on her and could never break her heart...too bad I had left my phone with my friend Kayme I would have at least taped her voice for my poor bro. I started breaking down now and there suddenly there was pin drop silent and I ran outside leaving my stuff the way I had carried them. I didn't want anyone of them seeing me by any chance.

Immediately I was outside I ran towards the parking lot took my car and drove home with mixed feelings of hurt and betrayal which were later consumed by unfathomable loathe and anger. The words Cate said kept repeating in my mind as fresh as they came from her.

I really wished that I had not entered the washroom or even neared the pathway to there. What the- my thoughts were cut short by hooting of cars from behind I had forgotten that I had parked my convertible on the way a few minutes when I was trying to get rid of the tears that were clouding my vision.

Reaching home by God's grace I met mom had left the house leaving a note behind that she had gone to get some groceries. I went straight to my room banging the door behind me and buried my head in my pillow with tears streaming down my eyes with an image of my brother's miserable life banging in my mind. I know this reaction was more childish but what do you expect when the person in question was my poor brother?

After a moment of negotiating with myself I decided to take a cold shower to calm down my nerves. I still couldn't believe that that dounchbag was using my brother for her selfish gain. I made my self a sandwich and ordered pizza for my brother in case he would be hungry since he will be playing for hours. I couldn't wait to tell him what I heard though I had no evidence. 'But why could he even believe me? Stop getting paranoid Adena' I scolded myself.

I heard a knock on the door and wished that it could be the pizza guy and no one else coz I was not in the mood to get in conversation. But to my utter surprise it was Kayme my very best friend she had a grin on her face which really meant to scold me. It's then that it downed to me that I had left her with my phone not remembering when I left unannounced.

"Come on silly girl, won't you let me in plus no hug for your munchkin. Oh MG!!!!! Ade, what's wrong?  you have berry red scary eyes were you crying bestie?..." She bombarded me with countless questions that I even lost count of. She engulfed me in an assuring hug and I couldn't help it that I broke down on her shoulders.

Kayme is a very passionate and lovely sweet girl who is always like a sister to me. She led me to the couch, remembering that I had not allowed her in. I mumbled a " sorry for making you stand." She said "it's okay bestie anything for you."
