I watched as the raindrops on the window trickled down to the side of the train. I had my head leaned against the cold glass of my window. I heard the door creak and slide open and my eyes laid upon a girl, around 5'5. She had blonde curly hair braided into two braids that fell on her chest and bangs which ended just above her eyes. Round, Golden glasses sat upon her nose, which was lightly covered with small freckles.
"Is anyone going to be sitting here?" she said with a timid voice.
"Nope. Just me." I replied.
She sat down next to me and placed her round, brown satchel on the bag racks above our heads.
"You should get changed into your uniform. We should be arriving in around an hour but some of the other students have started getting there things ready. I'm Ella by the way. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Liliana. Are you a Third Year aswell?" I asked.
"Mhm." she replied.
I took her advice from earlier and grabbed my uniform out of my bag. I walked over to the bathroom on the train and changed from my messy jeans and turtleneck. The school uniform was actually comfortable. It was a simple white blouse with a plaid skirt and long white socks. I made my way back into the thin corridor leading to where Ella was sat.
The next 45 minutes went by in a flash, probably because I ate the delicious bento I made at home.
"Are you ready to go?" she asked me.
"Yep! Just getting my stuff packed up." I replied.
When I opened the door, I saw what must have been thousands of school students leaving the train. My heart started beating quickly and my hands started shaking. That was until Ella grabbed hold of my hand and pulled me along to the grand door. We had to line up outside in the rain before we were allowed in, because it seemed like one of the school ghosts had locked the door to play a trick on us. When we started to move inside, I must've looked stupid. I had my satchel, my mother's bonsai tree, Fukoro's cage (my owl) and my wand.
I glanced around the room quickly but I couldn't help to notice the beautiful stained glass windows. It seemed like they were trying to tell a story, yet at the same time just looked like basic windows. I finally walked over to the table where I would be given my schedule and dorm room number.
"My dorm is in the Pluto area. What about you?" Ella asked me.
"Oh, I'm Pluto too! Number..." I said, searching for my number card again, "Number 531".
"No way! We're in the same dorm room together! I wonder who's on the other side. I heard the school have mixed up genders for the dorms this year!" She cried.
"Haha, maybe your new crush?" I chuckled.
"Oh shush. I was more thinking about you!"
Whilst walking to our dorm, we decided to look around the school a bit more. The corridors weaved around with beautiful architecture. We found a small garden with shrubbery making a small path to the center where there sat an amazing, tall fountain. At the top there were 4 stone figures which represented each of the houses. Juno (a crown), Neptune (a star), Hesta (a flame) and Pluto (a crescent moon).
We decided to walk through the garden, because the rain had died down a bit, so I took out my polaroid camera and started snapping a few pictures. I loved my camera. It made a way for me to express how I feel through a form of art: Photography.
At the end, we came to read a sign that said: astra inclinant, sed non obligant. From learning Latin at school, I knew what it meant. 'The stars incline us, they do not bind us.' That's Pluto's house phrase. This must be the way to the Pluto dormitories.
We walked up what felt like an eternity of staircases until we reached a door. Not looking where I was going, I tripped over my untied shoe lace and started falling. I was talking to Ella so I didn't realise till she said 'Liliana watch out!' I felt my nose hit something. Wait, no, it hit someone. Prepare for the awkward conversation.. I said to myself.
"Easy there tiger. Falling for me already?" I heard a voice above me say.
"Sorry about that." I apologised. "My name's Liliana".
"Nice to meet you Liliana. My name's Max." he said.
