"Nice to meet you Liliana. My name's Max." he said.

My vision started clearing up a bit to reveal Ella and someone a lot taller than me.

He was around 6ft tall with dark brown messy hair. But what really stood out were his eyes. What looked like millions of different shades of green were swirling around in his irises.

I got up from the floor and picked up the books that had fallen when I tripped. Ella grabbed my hand and pulled me up the stairs into the hall at the top.

"Holy shit Liliana! Did you see the way he was looking at you?" she said excitedly.

I wasn't too sure what she meant, so I shrugged and we walked up to our dorm.

"Number 531. This is it. Our home
for the next year." I said.

We opened the door to reveal a huge room. There was a space in the middle separating the two bedrooms with another beautiful stained glass window. Ella and I decided to take the left quiet side of the room, because each bedroom had 2 beds in them. The doors separating the two rooms were wooden and had silver handles.

Ella and I shared a room with two twin sized beds in it, one at the opposite end of the space. My side had another window, but this time was just clear. Outside my window I could see the fountain area I had previously been with Ella. If I wanted to I could probably climb out my window and sit on the roof. I started unpacking my stuff and setting out all of the things I'd need. I put my notebooks and pencil case of my desk, along with my desk organisers to set everything there neatly. I placed my clothes in my drawers and my phone on the nightstand to charge. I sat on the soft red plaid bedsheet and stared outside the window. I was happy to finally get away from home. Even though I love it so much, it sometimes gets a bit too boring. The whole summer break I decided to stay home, which was good because I finally got to see my family, but I really missed my friends here at Bothwell.

Breaking me from my train of thought, there was a knock on the door. I stared at Ella with a confused look on my face. I walked over to the door and opened it but nobody was there. Weird. Maybe someone has a spell they used to throw something at the door? I shrugged it off and went back to my room to place my small bonsai tree on the shelves. Then we heard another knock on the door.

"It's not funny anymore, go away! Your spell is useless anyway." I said.

I stormed over to the door and opened it but this time two people were staring at me. One of them I recognised. Max? What's he doing here?

"Um hi... what are you doing here exactly?" I asked.

"What does it look like?" He said, looking down at the boxes in his hand. "We're moving in!"

Are you serious. Max and his friend are going to be our roommates for the next year?

"Hi there. I'm Luca. Nice to meet you." The other guy says.

He looks similar to Max but there's a few differences. He has freckles dotted over his face and black hair and his eyes are a shade of deep chocolate brown.

"Oh, you must be Max's..?" I began.

"Brother." He finishes off.

"Oh. Cool!" I said.

From hearing all the noise, Ella walked out of her room and stopped to say hello. Max and Luca started unpacking their stuff after they'd had a look around themselves.

As the sun was setting, I climbed out of the window and sat on the roof staring at the sky. Wow. This place was like nothing I've ever seen before. I slid down a bit and walked over to a bit where the roof underneath me was flat. Then from my right I saw Ella come out and she walked over to sit with me. I think we sat there for around 45 minutes, until we decided to go back inside for the dinner. All the students were walking in friend groups, especially the First Years. Ella and I walked down to the Great Hall with Max and Luca walking behind us. All the years other than the First Years sat down in their correct house tables. Then the First Years were sorted into their new houses.

After that, we were finally allowed to eat the delicious food laid out in front of us. Ella and I sat in the corner area with glasses of water and some food we got from the table. I snuck over to the window and sat in the frame staring out onto the field.

"Liliana you okay?" Said Ella from behind me.

"Mhm." I said, nodding my head.

We walked out of the hall and went to the fountain area again and I sat on one of the benches reading my favourite book: Before I Go. Even though romance stories like that are so far fetched and something like that will probably never happen to me, I still love reading them. Personally, I believe that 'soulmates' and 'true love' is a bunch of shit adults made up to make people follow rules and feel happy that someone is out there for them. Books and movies always make relationships look happy and amazing, which they are, but in reality they can really hurt you sometimes. Maybe someone is out there, and maybe I'm just stupid but everyone thinks differently so I'm no person to judge.

Ella grabbed the book out of my hand.

"Liliana you are obsessed with this aren't you?" She said.

"Um, well, actually-" I began.

"Never mind. Let's go back to the dorms. I'm tired."

We walked back to our dorm room and I walked into my bedroom where I immediately fell onto my bed and fast asleep.
