I wake up and everything around me is strange and foreign. Where am I? I turn over in the bed, that's not mine, and see Eli next me. Soon everything comes back and slaps me.
"Good morning Beautiful." He smiles and wipes my hair out of my eyes. I lean in and kiss him while placing my hand on his bare chest. I pull away when it occurs that I never heard Claire cry last night.
"Claire!" I gasp and sit up fast.
"She's fine May. I took care of her last night and like an hour ago.
"Oh your the best." I lay back down.
"Tell me something I don't know." He smiles. I lean back over and kiss him again.
"What are we going to do Eli? Sooner or later we are going to run out of food here," I rest my head on his warm chest.
"We will figure something out."
"And what about our parents? I have no clue where mine went to and I'm freaking out."
"There adults. They're probably doing fine."
"What if they are trapped by the guns men?"
"May, stop worrying. We will figure everything thing out. Remember God will always provide." I sigh and realize he's right.
"You always get me." I smile and push the rest of my body up against his.
"In the meantime we can spend some time with each other."
"Ooo I like that!" I say playfully. Just as he we begin to get kissing again I hear crying in the room across from ours.
"Ugh. I got it." I pull away and pull back the blankets. I make my way to the bedroom and see Claire standing up in the crib. I reach her and pick her up rocking her to quite down. She's got to be hungry because I sure know that I am. I make my way down to the kitchen and my feet are pretty chilly on these draftly wooden floors. It also makes since that I'm cold because I'm in my dress still from yesterday. Yesterday. I reach the kitchen and put Claire down in the high chair in the kitchen. Thank goodness these people had a baby or else Claire would be sleeping with us in the master room and eating in my lap. I don't know if I can handle that much bonding. I make my way over to the huge food cabinets attached to the walls and open up the doors. There is hardly any food in here but there is cheerios. I open up the already half eaten box and place some cheerios on the high chair table. Claire shoves her mouth with food.
"Its good to see you smile." I look up and see Eli leaning in the doorway.
"Do you want cheerios?" I hold the box up and shake it around.
"Heck yeah!" He walks over and sits down at the long dark wooden table. I hand him the box and look back over at Claire. She is still working on munching down her food and I let out a little laugh. She is so cute.
"More!" She points at the box Eli has. I reach over and take the box away from Eli. "Here you go girl." I pour her some more and ruffle her hair when I'm done. I hand to box back to Eli and search through the cabinets some more trying to find out what all we have.
"We have flour, some spices, and some chocolate chips." I slam the cabinet shut and turn around gripping the counter. How the heck are we going to get by?
"We also have the green beans in the living room." Eli smirks when I glare over at him.
