5 years later......
Liam was starting his first day as a 7th grader at Red Oak middle school. Their mascot is woody, a twig. Their principal Mr. Johnson. HE is a grumpy man, Maybe because of the superintendent, his boss. He makes Mr. Johnson support the school. Mr. Johnson has always been a big fan of all of the planets, he has wanted to go to the moon. Mr. Johnson always has a fun fact over the intercom, today's was the moon was first sighted 168 years ago today. He asked if anyone knew what the moon was called in English.
Everyone responded," moon".
Next, he asked if anyone knew what it was called in French.
The French teacher in room 107, along with all of her students responded," lune" with proud smiles on their faces.
Finally, he asked if anyone knew what it was called in Science teacher; The Italian teacher started to respond, but she was cut off by one of her students who said, "Luna." with a smile on his face. It was from Liam.
"Great job Liam," Mrs. Maxwell said. The principal ended the announcements with an announcement about the testing that started today. Everyone in the school sighed. After the announcements were over, all the teachers in the building started lecturing the kids about how they needed to try their best, and how the bosses will get mad at the teachers if the kids don't score highly, and then all of the teachers pulled out their signature trick to make the kids do good. They said if the class averaged at least 70% correctness per question they would get an extra recess.
Kids all started hollering around the school.
After a long week, the tests were finally over. As Liam walked home, his mom drove up in a car beside him. She rolled down the window and told Liam to," hop in." His mom said as she hit a button in the front and the back door opened. Liam hopped in to find Luna sitting in the seat. After his mom got done asking him how he thought he did on the test, and he just kept saying he did great even though he didn't know how he scored, his mom handed him a piece of paper; it was the test scores. He opened them up and found he had scored perfect in every category except for Science, which he had scored a solid 94%. He scratched Luna with excitement. He gave a fist bump into the air; Luna got excited and gave a short bark into the air. Luna then laid over onto Liam's lap. As Christi drove home she kept looking around at her surroundings.
Liam noticed mom was looking around a lot but kept quite. What is she doing, he thought, she has driven this road her whole life. She grew up here. She knows that you go down two more blocks, take a left at the tree, then head toward the red brick house with the red barn Liam finished thinking. Christi saw an exit sign and swerved two lanes to exit 9.
"Where are you going, Mom?!" Liam asked surprised.
" We are celebrating your grades," Christi started, " We are going to go to the water park," Christi said excitedly.
