Guys i think something is behind you... i could be wrong but yea... *panicking on the inside*
lmao that's gotta be a big ass bird behind you. rippp
I've gone through a list of the majority of birds of prey. I ruled out hawks, as "hawks are not generall hostile toward humans" but with "typical parental instinct they opt to get aggressive". I ruled out owls as they are typically nocturnal. I managed to eliminate all but these as a possibility, based on vocalization and behaviour:
The Peregrine Falcon. It is fast, explaining the bird rapidly getting closer. I couldn't find anything on vocalization, but based on documentaries I've seen I'm pretty sure it's call could match the squawk y'all are hearing. The Black Kite has a call that matches the "booming, threatning squawk" though it may be slightly high pitched. In fact, most species of falcon on hawk match the description. Other than that there are species of eagle and harrier. These include the Wedge Tailed Eagle, the Booted Eagle, Montagu's Harrier, the Eastern Marsh Harrier and the Western Marsh Harrier. Most of the stuff I found on defending yourself was pretty small scale, stay inside, wear protective outfits and set up an false owl or scarecrow to drive them off. Hope it can help. Good luck!
"As intellectual as you are, there is little we can do with this information." Sci says.
"We can still take cover. Duck!" Dream pulls Sci flat onto the ground as a massive bird swoops past them, the breeze strong enough to knock someone off their feet. The bird's curved talons clamp around one of the deer-like creatures and it flies off with its catch.
"Come on, before it comes back!" Dream whispers, dragging Sci to his feet and bolting to the cave. The two skeletons slide into the hole and down a vertical tunnel.
Neptune: I can try and make a giant pool down there and make a giabt slide of ice! Will thT help?
Dream shakes his head. "We're fine, thank you."
Sci and Dream reach the end of the tunnel, where they are practically thrown into an open cave. One side of the cave is open to the outside world. Sci almost falls off the side, but Dream catches him and pulls him back.
Okay sci if you have any materials can you heal dream? If you could build anything for more shelter that would be really use full before hand. If I can ill give you some stone
"I unfortunately don't have anything I can use on hand right now," Sci says, still very much disoriented. "But, uh...we seem to have shelter."
Dream examines the cave. "This place is rather curious." He mumbles to nobody in particular.
Wait can dream turn into shattered if hes mad enough?
Dream raises a bonebrow. "Who?"
Yup these two beans definitely can't kill stuff
"Not in this state, we can't." Dream sighs.
As Dream looks around the cave, he notices a kind of stone archway. Strange symbols are carved into it. You can't read it, but it seems Dream and Sci can.
"It's a portal." Dream says. "But it's not activated."
Sci points to a separate block of stone. "That seems to be half of a lever." He approaches the stone and examines it closely. It's well carved. There is a place to put a lever handle.
"Perhaps we can make something to put in it." Dream suggests.
"I don't think so. This requires something curved and strong. We don't have the materials or the tools to make something that will fit this and hold under pressure."
There is a short pause. In the distance, a loud caw from the bird of prey.
"We need that bird's talon..."
