*cellphone ringing*
Hanns calling ..
"Oh? anong kailangan mo?" sagot ko. Kakatapos ko lang maligo. t'was 7 am and nagpe-prepare ako for school.
"Late ka na naman ano?" pabirong sabi nya.
"Hindi ka na nasanay. Ikaw ba nasa school na?" habang sinusuot ang sapatos.
"I'll be transferring" there was sadness in his voice, "mom wants me to study abroad."
So I guess I'll be losing another friend.
"That sounds nice. Sino bang ayaw mag aral abroad?" pilit kong pinagaan ang mood.
"I guess. Can you meet me after school? maghihintay ako outside campus."
As much as I want to pero I think I won't be able to handle losing a friend in front of me.
"Sorry, pero meron kasi akong gagawin after class." tanging nasagot ko.
"Then I'll try to wait." he replied.
"I have to go, late nako. Bye." mabilis kong tinungo ang daan palabas dahil totoong late na ako.
Hanns was the name of the guy I held onto during graduation ball. It was a long story but to make it short, right after graduation ball he started making a fuss in our school group chat na supposedly for announcement lang sana for school activities. He was looking for me and he was asking for some help para malaman what's my name. I decided makipagkita to also thank him. After we met that day, walang pakundangang panliligaw ang ginawa nya. He was so expressive and hindi siya nahihiya ipagsigawan sa lahat na type nya ako. I find it annoying at first pero kalaonan he became a friend. Kahit pa na reject ko sya multiple times, still he offered me friendship. And now, I guess malas kang siguro talaga ako when it comes to friends. I tend to lose them in the long run.
"Late ka na naman Ms. Alvarez." napansin pala ni maam ang pagpasok ko.
"Sorry po." nahihiyang sambit ko.
"Take a seat."
I don't know why but I always end up sitting beside Ian. Yeah, we are in the same class. After high school, hindi ko alam na same university pala ang inapplyan namin and same course kaya same block din kami.
Since day one, hindi nya ako kinakausap kahit magkatabi kami. Para akong hindi nag e-exist kaya hinayaan ko nalang siya until that day. Nung nagkasugat ako dahil sa blade.
"For your research, I want you to look for a partner."
As usual, hindi rin niya ako pipiliin at dahil sobra ng isa ang class. I volunteered to do my research alone. Sanay naman na ako eh.
Soon the class was into groups while I was alone. I have to admit it. That for everytime our professors would ask us to partner up, I wished he would come and choose me. But I know things are different now.
"Okay lang ba talaga na mag isa ka Ms. Alvarez? pwede namang may isang group of three." professor randomly asked kaya napaling ang tingin sakin ng mga kaklase ko. Including him. He looked at me like he don't know me at all.
"I'm good, maam. I'm good." nasagot ko nalang.
"Okay so I will not hold you guys for long. Take your time everyone. Goodbye." ani prof.
I went straight to library. I know I have to really take my time kasi nasa labas na raw si Hanns and I'm still sure na hindi muna ako magpapakita sa kanya. Doing a research alone is kinda hard but convenient. I won't have to worry about anything else aside from myself. I was doing my research and I didn't realize I fell asleep. The next thing I know, the library was dark and awfully quiet.
I WAS LOCKED INSIDE!
I tried screaming for help but no one seems to hear me. I was reminded by the time Ian and I was both locked in our library during 3rd year high school. I did not felt fear for I know Ian will protect me. I knew back then, I was safe. But right now, I am alone.
*Books fell sound*
Nagulat ako. Ano yon? May ibang tao pa ba rito? Pano kung hindi tao ang nasa loob kasama ko? Diyos ko po!
Nabanaag ko sa katiting na liwanag ang bulto ng isang lalaki. Agad na nanalaytay ang takot sa aking buong katawan at agad akong nahilo at nawalan ng malay. Narinig kong sumigaw ang lalaki ..
"Belaaaaa!" familiar voice echoed in my head. Could it be him? before I could confirm it, I passed out.
