The smell lingered as Eddie caught his breath, the air sending a familiar and awakening shock into his lungs as if to wake them up from a slumber that his body had most certainly not allowed. His death-grip on the small contraption finally loosened as his breathing began to once again come into focus. Everything around the boy seemed to appear back into normal, his panicked mindset falling back to a seemingly normal one.

Eddie Kaspbrak, a small 16-year-old who still hadn't hit his growth spurt, as his far as he could tell his mother was the only one thrilled about this fact, sat in his room waiting for his day to begin. The day had started off rough, an asthma attack taking up a chunk of time only ten minutes before he had been planning on setting off towards school. Once he had caught onto his breathing his small, clammy hands latched onto the straps of his backpack as the bag hung loosely off his shoulders. Now all that was left to do for the day was to say goodbye to his mother.

Awe, yes, Sonia Kaspbrak. She was a rather large woman, and Eddie was quite honestly terrified of her, although you'd never hear him say it out loud. Despite being scared of her, he adored her with his entire heart. Anything she did was to only keep him safe after all, which was why he took so many forms of medicine. He took countless numbers of vitamins daily, and some other pills that he had never quite really known the benefit of, but taking them was easier than arguing with his mother.

"Eddiebear, did you pack your extra inhaler?" Sonia's voice rang through his ears as he entered the kitchen, happiness, and dread washing over him at the same time. He was hesitant to respond, packing one of his fannypacks with things he may need for the day, the kid could never be too safe.

"Yes, mommy." He replied, his voice sounding sickeningly sweet as he walked to the doorframe leading into the living room.

There on the couch set his mother, her lips pulling back into an uptight smile, though it was hard to tell apart her facial expressions sometime's. She gave Eddie a look, they had an almost silent conversation before he sighed softly, walking over and giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Don't forget to take your vitamins during lunch!" She called after him as he hurriedly put on his sneakers and clipped on his fannypack before heading out the door.

A soft smile spread on his face as the morning chill wrapped around him, the scent of cleaning chemicals no longer filling his nostrils. He loved that about nature, the sense of calm it filled him with, even if he wasn't the biggest fan of it at times he couldn't deny that it could be downright beautiful.

Leaning against a tree was Eddies bike, he picked it up gingerly, carefully hopping on as to not drop his bag or possibly trip. He rode away from the house, flipping it off once he felt like he was far enough away to where his mother wouldn't be able to tell. If she had happened to be looking out the window anyway.

The bike flew, or at least it felt like Eddie was moving that fast, his short legs pedaling as fast as he could. To anyone else, he may have looked silly, but these were the few minutes where Eddie could let his guard down. His guard had to be on full alert when he was at school, to mainly keep himself from getting his ass beat by Bowers, or from getting tormented by Greta Bowie. It was all highschool bullshit anyways, and Eddie never let Greta get away without a few choice words. He did happen to be too scared to speak up against Henry, only ever having done so when following Bill's lead.
