He walked around the room, examining the blank walls. He wanted to know where to put what posters. AC/DC on this wall, KISS on this one, and Metallica above the bed. The walkman in his back pocket had been playing Africa by Toto, the boy holding the headphones over his ears so he could get a good listen.Richie Tozier was that boy, standing in his new room and pointing out where he wants things. This can go here, that can go there. Blah, blah, blah. He walked over to his twin-sized bed once it had been placed in the corner, closest to the window. The boy sat, enjoying the time he had while listening to his walkman. Once he heard his father, Wentworth, call his name, he got up and ran down the stairs. His walkman and headphones stationed on his bed, the strong tempo of Come Sail Away by Styx blasting through the foam. Richie ran down the stairs, back straight, hands by his sides, and eyes facing his father.
"You're going to school tomorrow. New school, make friends. Just don't bother us and we don't care what you do," Wentworth spoke. "But under no circumstances should you bring home any girls and have them in your bed. That's why you even have a small bed. You're dismissed, go unpack."
Richie ran to his bedroom, turning off the walkman and beginning to unpack. Posters, hung up in their places, action figures are put on the shelves, comic books on his bookshelf. He pulled out a leather bound journal. At first glance, you might think it were a sketch book, or a notebook for school. But in reality, it was his "boy diary." He kept it hidden, at his old house, in the floorboards. For now, he'll hide under his pillow until he can find a nice place to put it.
Around 12:27 am the next day, Richie walked into the lunch room. He got his lunch tray, ordering two only-cheese burritos, and made his way down to the farthest boys bathroom from the cafeteria. He ate in silence, no one coming in or noticing he was gone. No one even knows him because he's new, but still. You'd think some random Freshman would come in and ask why he was here, but no one entered the area.
The date was March 4th, only 6 days remaining until the "biggest day ever," Richie Tozier would turn 17. He loathed the thought of getting older, already having enough with school and home life. He just wants everything to be fine.
And at this moment, he is at peace, in this bathroom. He is at total peace until that feeling turns into bliss when a small, handsome, young boy walks into the bathroom, catching his eye
