i woke up to the birds churping around me and a small weight on my chest i looked down to see jorge sleeping peacefully on my chest and that's when i realised where i was, the meadow from last night. i decided not to wake jorge up just yet as he was sleeping peacefully but checked my phone instead.
i saw over 5 missed calls from my parents, sighing slightly before calling them back to let them know where we are and to say that we're safe to say we were alright. my mum told s that she was coming to get us so i waited a couple of minutes with waking jorge up. i brushed the curls out of his face and shook his softly.
he groaned slightly and made a little sound telling me that he was awake. i smiled slightly looking down a the younger boy. "wake up" i said softly moving slightly so that i was sitting up straight. his eyes then opened, the glossy brown orbs looking back at me as he offered a toothless smile. "morning" i said as i draped my jacket over his small frame the one which i gave him last night as he left it in the restaurant. he sat up with me and smiled at me. "thank you benji" he muttered softly but avoiding my eyes. "for what?" i asked confused, turning to face him properly. "for last night" he said slightly sad. i only nodded pulling him into a friendly hug. "anytime, i've got you" i said feeling slight butterflies in my stomach but decided to ignore them.
we sat on the meadow for a couple of minutes before my mum called to tell us that she was waiting for us in the parking lot. i stood up, stretching as i did before offering my hand to jorge and pulling him up. We walked to the car and got in, driving back home. It started raining heavily once we got home, luckily for us we got inside before the rain started to chuck it down. when inside jorge sat on the couch under a blanket, i made a cup of tea for him and i to drink for later as it was too hot now smiling while handing him his. i sat on the other side of the couch and put on the tv
"wanna watch a movie or something?" i asked jorge who was already half asleep on the couch he mumbled something before his eyes fluttered shut. i took the tea out of his hands and put it on the table infront of me and pulled the blanket more over him. i turned off the tv and headed to my room deciding to take some more proper rest too
