“Neville-what the-how?” Harry said, as the boy called Neville hopped down from the picture frame and hugged Hermione, Harry and Ron all at once. The boy was very tall and skinny, and handsome as well, though he had bruises, cuts, and scrapes all over his face. He couldn’t be more than eighteen.

“I knew you’d come! Kept telling Seamus it was a matter of time!” Neville said.

“Neville, what’s happened to you?” Harry asked. Neville dismissed it.

“What? This? This is nothing. Seamus is worse. You’ll see. Shall we get going then? Oh, Ab, there might be a couple more people on the way. And who is this? I forgot to ask.” Neville said, turning to me.

“I’m Isabella, and this is Freya.” I said, extending my hand to shake his. Neville was taller than me, which was a rare thing with school aged kids.

“Pleasure to meet you.” Neville said, taking my hand and kissing it. I giggled. Freya gagged in disgust.

“Ew.” She muttered. Neville turned back to the picture frame, stepped into it, then held his hand out to Hermione, who was closest. He helped Hermione through, then Freya, then me, then Ron. Harry stayed behind momentarily to address the barman. Harry entered the passage way, and the boys talked about the passage way and what has been going on at the Hogwarts, where apparently this passage leads to, and finally, we made it to the exit.

As soon as Harry stepped out of the passageway, people were shouting at the four of them. Freya recognized some of her friends, and I was left by myself.

“Miss Perry is that you?” A familiar voice called. I smiled and turned to my left.

“Professor!” I said, as I nearly ran into the arms of professor McGonagall. We hugged, then she held me at arm’s length.

“Oh, dear, it’s so good to see you.” She said. I smiled and hugged her again.

Professor McGonagall and I were very close during my years at Hogwarts, with me being in constant need of transfiguration help.

“I’m sorry about Annabella.” McGonagall said. She was also one of the few I told about Annabella. “I’m sorry, dear, but there’s somewhere I need to be, so I’ll see you around, I suppose.”

“See you around, Professor.” I called after her, as she started walking away. I turned to see the hundreds of kids in the room looking panicked, and some already leaving the room. I had no idea where Freya was, or what to do.

“You-Know-Who’s coming! We’ve got to set up our places! Let’s get a move on!” Someone shouted. I looked around at the kids who were filing out of the room, very calmly. This surprised me for the information they had just received. Someone grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. It was Neville who I saw standing in front of me.

“Wanna take the bridge guard with me?” He asked. I nodded, seeing as there was nothing more for me to do. We got into the line of people who were filing out of the room, and I saw Freya’s head of blonde. I grabbed a lock of it and tugged.

“Ow!” She said, spinning around. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her to me. “Oh, hi Bella.”

“Hi Freya. We’re taking bridge guard.” I told her, pushing her forward, with Neville behind me. When we had made it into the corridor, and out of the room, people were running in every direction. Neville grabbed my hand as to not loose me, and Freya and I ran in the direction of the bridge. We left the school, and down the path, and to the long covered bridge. There was a group of about nine kids already there. We had sprinted the whole way there, so when we finally made it, we all fell to our hands and knees and panted heavily. I looked into the sky to see protective enchantments being shot out into the sky, from Hogwarts grounds. I stood up, raised my wand and began to say a few of my own enchantments. In Russian, of course.

When I had said all of the ones I knew, Freya held out her hand to me.

“What?” I asked her, not seeing what she wanted.

“Give me your wand.” She said, curling her fingers towards her palm, then releasing them. I handed her my wand. She started saying Nordic spells. When she had finished, she gave me my wand back.

Suddenly, there was a voice that was ear-splittingly loud. It echoed thorough the grounds.

“I know that you are preparing to fight.” I dropped to my knees, covering my ears as the voice continued. “Your efforts are futile. You cannot fight me. I do not want to kill you. I have great respect for the teachers of Hogwarts. I do not want to spill any magical blood.”

All was silent, and I stayed on the ground but unclasped my ears. The voice continued.

“Give me Harry Potter and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave the school un-touched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded.”

“And it begins.” Neville said, as he grabbed my hand again, and pulled me down the bridge. We ran to the end of the bridge, and we stopped, reaching the barrier where hundreds, no thousands, of death eaters were. Including, you guessed him, Scabior.

Our eyes met, and he smiled, but said nothing. They charge, and I slightly shook my head, knowing as soon as Scabior touched the barrier, he would die.

Scabior stopped. He held his arms out, and stopped the majority of death eaters. Four crashed into the barrier, and basically exploded. Most death eaters were shocked at what had just happened, but Scabior just stared at me, with a curious expression on his face. He cocked his head slightly to the right, and stared at me. I stared into the blue eyes that I had been so comfortable staring at.

I stared at my child’s father.

His long tangled brown hair, with the red streak on the one side. The odd pants and the leather jacket. Even the boots which were almost identical to mine. I could not tear my eyes off of him. He seemed incapable of looking away from me.

We stared at each other for a while, it seemed.

Suddenly there was a giant explosion; one that rocked the ground. The barrier seemed to burn away, with little pieces floating to the ground. My heart rate increased, and my breathing became shallow.

I watched as Scabior raised his wand, and caught one of the barrier pieces. He smiled wickedly, the same smile that had initially drawn me to him.

Scabior yelled, and then charged with the rest of the death eaters. Neville and I turned, and sprinted as fast as we possibly could. I outran them all.

I started throwing spells over my shoulder, and Neville had to dodge a few of mine. A spell hit the bridge at my ankles, and I side-stepped, nearly throwing myself over the side of the bridge. I screamed slightly, and regained my footing. I kept running, but now with a shorter distance between me and everybody else. I started to panic, this time sending killing curses over my shoulder at death eaters, praying that I would not hit Scabior.

There was a loud crack, and I felt the bridge foundation shake. I ran faster, and made it to solid ground. I stood at the front of the small crowd that had gathered, and watched as Neville continued to fight, and as a fireball made its way towards the front of the bridge. The section of bridge that was closest to the by-standers gave way, sending the entire bridge into a free-fall. I threw myself onto my stomach at the edge, and threw my hand out, hoping to grab Scabior, who was on Neville’s heels.

Somebody grabbed my hand, and I realized with horror that it was Neville, not Scabior. I started to cry, knowing Scabior was falling to his death.

“Scabior, I’m sorry!” I screamed. I couldn’t stand to watch as Scabior fell. I grabbed Neville with both hands and pulled him up.

“Thanks.” He said. I nodded, feeling sick to my stomach. “Who was that person you were calling to?”

“I’m pregnant with his child.” I said shortly, walking away from the group. Neville had to jog to keep up with my long strides.

“You’re pregnant?” He asked. I wiped a single tear off of my cheek.

“Yeah, Neville. I am.” I said sadly. Neville and I jogged back to the main grounds of Hogwarts, where a battle had already began.
