Valentines POV

Valentine wasn't fully prepared for what she was about to do, but she knew she had to do it. It was Friday night, just after nine and she had decided to go to Felix's house. Valentine had realised that in that detention room, she truly did still want Felix. As soon as she had caught him staring at her and their eyes had locked, it was like a magnetic pull. The Atlantic oceans that flooded through Felix's eyes and the golden sunset that orbited his Iris's seemed like the most beautiful thing to look at, something she didn't want to tear her eyes away from. And then when he was stuttering and going bright red when he was embarrassed was so incredibly cute, a feature of Felix she had come to love every time he was embarrassed or felt like he had said something wrong. So innocent and apologetic. The small hour they had shared had made Valentine realise she wanted him back. Gingerly walking on a footpath with slippery condensing dew below her feet through the night, probably wasn't the best idea but Felix needed to know how she felt, even if he didn't feel the same. It was like an emotional weight that dragged her down more and more each day until the point where she felt like she was about the burst. Almost like an elephant sitting on her shoulders, unbearably heavy. Valentine was also smart about it, faking that Felix had dropped some of his notes from maths in detention and she felt it necessary to return them to him. It could turn really bad so she needed a reason to show up to his home uninvited. As she rounded the last the corner that would bring her within 200 metres of his house, Valentines heart sped up. Every step she took felt like it was beating even quicker, as if her heart was slowly wearing away at her ribs so it could jump out of her chest. By the time she got to his front door step, her heart had been replaced by her stomach and her heart was in her throat. When she knocked on the door, she felt set to faint.

Felix's POV
Felix hadn't really expected a visitor this late at night so when the knock came at the door, he nearly dropped the glass of water in his hand. When he looked through the glass window set in the doorway to see who was outside, he needed to set the glass down. He unlocked the door and opened it to let himself outside, quickly and quietly shutting the door behind him to make sure his parents didn't hear. It wasn't until he was outside that he realised he wasn't wearing a t-shirt and the porch light cast an incandescent glow over him, illuminating his entire body. There was no hiding. "Valentine, what brings you here?", asked Felix. "You dropped some notes in detention" Valentine replied. She handed the piece of paper to Felix, letting her fingers linger on his hand, but only briefly. "Cheers", he smiled. Valentine swivelled on the spot in front of Felix, obviously not intending to leave. "Ahh, anything else?" he laughed. "Yeah, there is".

Valentines POV
Her heart wouldn't stop pounding, and his laugh didn't help, it sounded like the perfect harmonic blend of a piano and guitar. Entirely beautiful and musical. She looked Felix in the eyes and before she could lose herself in them, blurted out, "I miss you". She stared at him for what felt like a million years, hoping for some kind of reaction. But she didn't get one. Instead, in an instant his lips were on hers. It felt like the world was dissolving around them in a torrent of sound and movement. It felt like they were falling out of a plane with a hurricane of fires swirling around in a vortex of emotion, love, happiness, euphoria. Warmth radiated out from both of them and the moment seemed to last forever. Pure perfection.

When they finally stopped kissing, Felix looked Valentine in the eye and chuckled, "I've been meaning to tell you, I miss you too". Valentine giggled at that. They both stood there holding each other tightly, not wanting to let the other one go. Eventually, when it was time for Valentine to go home, Felix called out to her, "There's this movie I want to see at the cinemas, come with me tomorrow?". Valentine smiled back at him, "I'd love to".
