The second Peter walked into the school he knew that the facade he put up for the Avengers wouldn't last. Why? You may ask. Well because of bloody Flash. Peter had barely walked into the school and Flash was already on his high horse taunting him mercilessly. After all that had happened to Peter he didn't know if he was strong enough to deal with Flash anymore. Despite this he needed to push on through and give life a second chance.
As he placed the hundreds of massive textbooks in his locker in order to avoid breaking his back he felt a soft tap on his shoulder before he was encased in a big bear hug.
'Hey man!' Ned said in an overly cheery voice. A genuine feeling of warm happiness spread through Peter as he realised that his guy in the chair would always be there for him. Whether he was sad or happy Ned would support him for who he was. Peter plastered on the fake smile with a little less effort than usual and hugged Ned back. Although he didn't say anything back he knew Ned understood. He was happy but just not happy enough to interact with anyone but the avengers quite yet. Mood.
Overall Peter's first day wasn't bad at all. He kept quiet in most of his classes, got a rare pat on the shoulder from MJ and Flash had been unusually quiet after his first encounter. However after the last bell Peter was at his locker collecting the endless amounts of homework he had to take back to the tower as he felt his Peter tingle go off alarmingly loud for a normal day at school. As he processed this strange occurrence he was roughly shoved into his locker. He closed his eyes as text books and pens rained down onto him smacking him in the head. He opened one eye and was not surprised at all. Flash was standing there with a shit-eating grin on his face.
'Welcome back Penis. I'm surprised you haven't killed yourself yet. In the end you're just a weak brat that everyone leaves' Flash spat with unique venom. Although Flash had never been physically violent with Peter before, he couldn't help but think, here we go again.
Peter let Flash get in a few more punches without putting up a fight before Flash finally got bored of throwing insults and fists. Peter collected everyone off the floor as best as he could before putting his hood up and pulling the strings to cover the bruises that had begun to materialise on his face. He hoped that he would be able to pull of the look as some vine reference to Happy to avoid questions.
Peter trudged out of the school before taking a deep breath in and opening the door to the car and saying an enthusiastic 'Hey Happy!'. Happy turned around in his seat for possibly the first time ever and looked at Peter as if he had grown a hand on his face. However he held back from saying anything and began the drive back to the compound. Peter said a few more words before sitting back in his seat and faking a peaceful sleep. Something he hadn't had in a long long time.
