Once school ended at 3:30 I went home and got something to snack on. "Hey mom is it ok if my friend Thomas Karington comes over to do some homework for school?" I asked. "Ooh ya honey sure is he cute??" She responded swooningly. "Mom!! It's not like that! He's Laura's boyfriend."
I said annoyed. "Oh ok, sure." She said sarcastically. "But ya he can come over." "Ok thanks mom. Just try not to be weird please." I said pleading. "Fine I'll try." she responded.

When Thomas got there he texted me just like I told him to. The only reason I told him that was so that my mom didn't get all freaky on him. When I got the text I went downstairs and opened the door. There stood Thomas. "Hey Thomas, come on in." I said waving inside. We went to the kitchen table and started to work on our homework. "So, what do you want to do first?" Thomas asked me. "Um lets work on figuring out what job we want and where we are living." I said processing the information, figuring out what would be the bases to starting an adult life.

"So, what's your dream job Selene?" Thomas asked curiously. "I don't really know I've always wanted to do something in bussiness, you?" I answered not knowingly. "A police officer!" he said waving his hands across the room like it was the best job in the world. "Ok then so let's work on yours first. Time to find job openings." I said putting my fist in the air like a superhero, until we both automatically busted up laughing. "I know I'm stupid." I said as a compliment to myself while shrugging my shoulders. "You and I both." he said whilst a little chuckle surpassed his kinda 'cool' expression.

We finally finished looking for jobs for ourselves and found a quaint house for the two of us that was a three bedroom two bath for a pretty cheap price. We ended up losing track of time because we were goofing around while doing the project that by when we were done it was already 8pm. "Omg, it's late I hope your parents won't get mad at you." I said surprised and apologetic. "Nah its fine," he said, "they are pretty chill about what I do and where I go." "Oh ok, well do you want some food before you go then?" I asked politely. "Sure why not?" he said happily. "Pizzzaa?!" I said convincingly. "I think obviously, YESS!" he said in a 'duh' but excited tone.

Once we were done eating and talking it was about 9pm so Thomas went home. It was actually suprisingly easy to talk to him considering he was with Laura and all. I started to get ready for bed and then finished my other homework. It was weird not thinking about him for once.

The next day at school Laura seemed kind of distant and not just from me, from Thomas too. After school Thomas went to go try out for a club, so it was just me and Laura. "Hey what's wrong?" I asked, "you've been kind of distant today." "What's wrong!? Distant?! Seriously Selene! All you think about is yourself." She yelled. "What no I don't, what's going on?" I asked a little hurt from what she said. "What's going on? Well I'll tell you what's going on. You hanging out with my boyfriend instead of me and not even asking if it was okay with me. He's my boyfriend not yours. What's gotten into your head all of the sudden? Just because we haven't seen each other in a while doesn't mean anything has changed. I still have my boundaries and so do you. You crossed the line yesterday. You guys can hang out but not at your house. And especially not without asking if I'm okay with it. I thought our friendship was better than that." She said very hurt too while crossing her arms. "Laura he went over to my house so that we could do homework because we have a project for our 5th hour together. It's nothing more than that. I'm sorry that I didn't ask you, but I didn't think it was nesesary. And I know he is your boyfriend not mine, I'm pretty sure we both understand that. We are just becoming friends nothing more. And if you don't want us hanging out at my house there's always his house, your house, and a public place too." I said kind of apologetic and a little annoyed that she was accusing me of doing all these bad things. "You know what nevermind, you're acting like this is a joke. You can do what you want just leave me out of it. I'm done with you." she said then walked away from me before I could say anything.

I couldn't believe it. "We're done." That's what she said. "We're done."
Our friendship was really over. That fast. My heart just broke in half. Thank god there was a bench right there because I almost fell. I couldn't hold myself up anymore. I just couldn't belive it. I didn't want to believe it. I just sat on the bench and stared into space thinking of all things we have done together. My life was probably going to be a mess now.

What felt like a second later I heard someone's voice. Someone I recognized. But who? I looked around and didn't see anything. What going on? It's like I was in a bubble. I finally found the voice. It was Laura. She was calling to me. Why? Weren't we not friends anymore? I kinda started waving back at her because I obviously still wanna be friends with her. Then I kinda felt like a cold rush go through my body it was Thomas. He just walked right through me. That was who Laura was waving to. Not me. I guess she would never wave at me anymore. Then the image started to blur with the sound of someone's voice. "Selene! Selene!" I started to cry. It was Laura's voice. Could it be? She walked away. Never came back. I was alone. Who else would be here? "Selene?!" I heard again. But it wasn't Laura's voice this time. "Thomas?" I asked. "Selene it's me, Thomas. Wake up. It's late." He said while shaking me. "What? What's going on?" I said confused. "You are still at school. It's dark outside. What happened?" He said concerned. "What happened? Oh Um Laura." I said sadly. Then I started cry. Bawling my eyes out I felt Thomas hug me. Like a friend hug. Thomas was comforting me like a friend and nothing more. I just leant my head against his chest still crying. "It's ok." he soothed. "I'm sure you guys will work it out." he said to comfort me. "I doubt it." I said through the tears.

We just sat there until I felt the last tear drop. I finally sat up realizing it was dark outside. "What time is it?" I asked confused. "It's like 7:30." he said worried. "Oh." I said astonished it was that late. "Ya. Come on let's get you home." "Ya." I said instictly following him. After a few steps from getting off of the bench I almost fell. "Slelene?!" Thomas kind of yelled and then caught me. I was so tired. I just wanted to curl up in a ball and die. I loved Laura so much and then just like that she was no longer a part of my life anymore. I hated it. I hated me. And I kinda hated her too. I felt my legs whoosh up into the air and then the last thing I remember was Thomas saying, "Goodnight Selene, sleep well."
