My alarm goes off and it's time to get ready for school. I am extremely tired from work yesterday. I had work extra hours because the girl I had to work with had to leave early.
I straighten my hair and throw on a t-shirt under a hoodie and jeans because I'm too tired to put effort into my outfit. I grab some breakfast and put my shoes on and catch the bus.
I get off the bus and walk inside the school. I go to my locker and get my things for first period. As I shut my locker, I hear someone walking towards me. Lauren's here. I spin around with a grin and say "hey Laur!"
"Hey girlie!" She says with a smile.
"Someone seems extra happy today." I say with a giggle.
"And someone looks extra sleepy." She says with giggle.
"Had to work late."
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"It's ok. Why are you so happy?"
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot. I have great news!" She says excitedly. "There's gonna be a party tonight!"
"Oh no."
"Oh come on! We could find some cute boys to talk to!"
"Laur. You know I don't like parties or anything that forces me to be social. Plus I have to work tomorrow."
"I know, but I promise not to leave you by yourself or make you socialize. And we won't stay the whole time."
I sigh.
"On one condition." She points her finger at me.
I raise an eyebrow.
"You have to dance with me." She says with a smile.
"I do like to dance."
"Yes!" She almost yells.
I giggle and we walk to first period.
It now third period. I go to my seat and pull out my small sketch book. I notice Ethan sit down in his seat next me.
"Hey Abigail!" He says with a grin.
I grin at him.
"Are you gonna talk to me today?"
I shrug my shoulders.
He chuckles.
I look down at my sketch book and my eyes begin to feel heavy. I hear Ethan's voice but I don't listen enough to understand what he is saying.
"What?" I ask quietly.
"I asked if you finished that drawing yesterday."
"Oh." I whisper. "Yeah."
"Are you ok?" He asks.
"Worked late."
"Oh." He says sympathetically
"Where do you work at?""Coffeeshop down the street."
"Fun." He says jokingly.
I giggle look back at my sketch book.
"Can I see it?" He asked.
I look at him confused.
"The drawing." He says.
Oh. Why does he want to see it? Its not like he's into art like I am.
I flip back to my drawing in my sketch book.
His eyes widen.
"Woah! Its even cooler than yesterday."
I smile.
"It's a snow leopard right?"
I nod with a smile. He knew what it was!
"I like them too." He grins.
Huh. We have something in common.
"Alright quiet now class." Mr. Bays, our calculus teacher, say grumpily.
Ethan sighs and leans back in his chair as if he wanted to talk to me more. He looks over at me and whispers with a grin"Thanks for talking to me."
I roll my eyes playfully with a grin. He chuckles lightly. It is now lunch and the only thing Lauren wants to talk about is the party tonight. I, on the other hand, am not looking forward to being socially awkward in a crowd of probably drunk people.
"Hopefully they will play good music." Lauren says before getting a drink a water.
I nod.
"Do you want to get ready at my house or yours later?"
"Yours so you don't have to pick me up."
"Kay!"
"I'll text my mom and tell her I'm going home with you today."
She nods.
"Oh and you are going to wear some of my clothes."
"What? Why can't I just go in this?"
"You are not going to a party in a hoodie."
I roll my eyes and sigh.
"Fine."
Lauren and I get in her car and go to her place. Her mom works late so we will have the house to ourselves.
We walk inside and go straight to the kitchen to eat something before getting ready for the party.
"Bologna sandwich or microwave Ramen noodles?"
"I'll microwave the noodles myself. Don't want to set the house on fire." I tease.
"Good point."
We laugh.
I make my noodles while she makes her sandwich.
We finish eating and go to her room to get ready. Laur goes straight to her closet. She pulls out two outfits.
"Do you want the blue with stripes or the black and white one?" She asks me.
"Um. The black and white."
"Kay!" She says before throwing the outfit in my face.
"Hey!" I pout.
She laughs at me while walking to the opposite side of the room to change.
