We arrive at the party. You can hear the loud music from outside and there is alot of trash in the front yard.
"This is going to be so fun!" Laur says as she gets out of the car.
I take a deep breath before joining her.
She grabs my hand and pulls me while she jogs to the front door. We walk in and the house is full of people. My heart starts pounding in my chest and my hands are sweaty because I'm so nervous.
Laur pulls me over to the kitchen to get something to drink."Well hello there." Some guy says to us with a smirk.
"Hi!" Laur says with a smile.
"Can I get you guys a drink?" He asks with a wink.
I think he's drunk.
"No thank you. We don't drink."
"Oh come on! One drink."
"No I'll just grab a pop." Laur says before we try to get past the guy.
"You sure?" He asks.
His breath wreaks with alcohol.
"Yes." Laur says starting to get annoyed.
"Alright." He says before walking away to some other girls.
"What a jerk." Laur rolls her eyes.
I sigh. I don't want to be here.
Lauren grabs us both a Pepsi."Is there any more?" I hear a familiar voice ask from behind us.
I turn around to see Michael. I look at Laur and see a big smile on her face.
"Hey new kid!"
"I have a name."
"I know. It's funner to call you new kid."
He rolls his eyes playfully.
"New kid, this is my bestie Abigail."
"Hey Abigail!"
I smile at him.
"She's shy, like you." Laur says with a giggle.
He doesn't seem shy around Laur. I guess they've been talking.
Laur grabs him a Pepsi and they talk while I awkwardly stand here and look around. There are alot people dancing and drinking. I think the ones in the back corner are playing truth or dare or something.
Laur randomly grabs my arm really tight. I look at her and raise an eyebrow.
"It's our song!" She says excitedly.
I hear "Fire Burning" by Sean Kingston playing and I gasp. We used to listen to this song all the time when we were kids. We even made up a dance for it. I'm surprised that they are even playing it here.
"We have to do our dance." Laur says excitedly.
"Oh no no no." I nervously shake my head.
"Come on! You promised you would dance with me!"
Before I could say anything, she grabs my arm and pulls me in the middle of the crowd of people dancing.
She starts dancing the dance we made up and I look around shyly.
She look over at me and hits my arm hard. Ouch.
She give me look that says "if you don't start dancing I'll hit you harder."
I sigh and slowly start dancing the silly routine.
"Somebody call 911! Shawty fire burning on the dance floor!
Whoa!"I soon start getting really into it and I forget about all the other people in the room. I feel like a little kid again.
