Trolls: Supposed to Be

New Beginnings

Waking up to the sound of her alarm clock, poppys eyes quickly opened to see the brightness that filled her pod. She looked around and smiled, remembering right away that today was her big day.

Today, this day, was her official day to make her queen.

Her dad had it all set up, but he didn't tell her any of it. He told her, "It's a surprise, my dear. It's your big day!"

Slipping out of her pajamas and into her normal everyday dress, she walked out her of pod.

It wasn't until later that night that she would officially be queen, but poppy still felt power as she walked out of her door.

It was only 7am, and most of troll village was still asleep. Satin and Chenilles door was closed, which meant they were sleeping, Biggies snores could be heard clearly from her pod, and Branch wouldn't wake up for the next hour or two.

poppy's heart jumped at the thought of branch and she stopped on her tracks, confused at this feeling.

she had only felt her heart beat like that when she was around creek. ugh, even the thought of that traitor gave her the chills.

"poppy!" shouted a voice in the distance. turning around, poppy faced cooper. deep down, she was almost disappointed, as if she had been hoping for branch to be there, instead of cooper.

"what wrong, cooper?" poppy asked, hugging her friend quickly in attempt to get the thought of branch out of her mind. why was she suddenly thinking so much about him?

"i just wanted to congratulate you on being queen. i can't believe one of my friends is actually the queen of the village!" cooper said, laughing to himself.

poppy giggled. "well, thank you, cooper. i appreciate it."

"by the way, have you seen branch? i have something i need to ask him, and i figured you'd know where he was, since you two are so close!"

oop. there it was again. her heart skipped a beat at the mention of branch.

"we're not that close," poppy lied, trying to cover up whatever new feelings she had inside.

"sure you are! i see you two together all the time..."

interrupting him, poppy said, "what did you need to ask him? if i see him, i can ask him for you."

"i was going to ask him what he's going to wear to your first official party as queen tonight. i need inspiration," cooper said.

shoot. poppy had completely forgot branch was invited to her party. she couldn't let her new feelings get in the way of tonight!

"uh, just wear your usual." before cooper could respond, poppy ran off, headed for her pod.

"come on, poppy! think! what are you so worked up over?!" she entered her pod and hit her head as she fell to the floor. "what are you feeling? why are you feeling it? you're going to ruin your friendship with branch!"

"you're ruining our friendship?" a voice asked from the other side of her closed door.
