This is unedited. This will be a short chapter but I wanted to give y'all something.

Olivia's POV- Two months later:

It's been two months since the accident. Trevor was released from the hospital a month after the accident with strict orders to continue physical therapy. JJ still hasn't woken up yet. The swelling on her brain went down on its own, which we were all thankful for, but she should've woken up by now. Today the doctors will start running tests to try and figure out what's wrong.

She hasn't been alone during her stay, somebody is always with her. Currently I'm sitting with her and Trevor is on his way with his parents to be here when they start the testing. With everything that's happened, I've been working from home as has Trevor, even though he's supposed to be taking time off and resting.

In the past month we found out that the accident was intentional, somebody tampered with the traffic lights. Even knowing this, Trevor still blames himself for the accident. The driver of the truck has yet to be located.

A nurse walks in to tell me that my parents and brothers are here again. They've been here every day since the accident but haven't made an effort to try and actually see JJ. My Father still wants me to take over the business even though my brothers were groomed to take it over when the time came.

The buzz of my phone catches my attention. Looking at it I see a text from Trevor saying they should be here within the hour. Smiling, I send my reply then look at JJ, wondering what activity she would've picked for our anniversary this year. It's tradition that when we celebrate our wedding anniversary the last week of August, we do something just the three of us, and the following weekend would be just Trevor and I, with JJ spending the night usually with Malcolm and Tina. Trevor and I decided to postpone until he and JJ are feeling better.

I take JJ's hand in mine, sitting back in the chair waiting for Trevor and the doctors.

Dianne Nelson's POV:

"Where do you think you're going?"

Looking up I see my husband, his twin brother behind him looking menacing and it sends a shiver through my body. I've kept quiet long enough.

"The students are worried about JJ and they asked me to go check on her this morning before school."

"Brother, I think you should go with your wife." He smirks.

"I don't have time for that. I have to be at the office for a meeting." Picking up his briefcase, he saunters to the door.

It's at this moment that I've never been more thankful for his job. On the outside I'm calm but on the inside, I'm terrified that they know I heard them talking last night. Hearing that conversation solidified my decision to speak up, no matter how afraid I am of my brother-in-law.

Grabbing my purse, planner, and lunchbox off the counter, I head for the front door. I take my car keys from the hook and walk out, letting the door come to a close behind me. In the car I toss my stuff in the passenger seat, starting the car. I pull a folded up piece of paper and a flash drive from my purse and place them in the cup holder. Pulling out of the driveway, I begin the drive to the hospital. After that I'll begin what may very well be my last day at work.

Making my way to ICU I try to calm my nerves. I stop outside the room where JJ is, as her Mom stands up. She notices me and motions me in.

"How are you, Ms. Nelson?"

"I'm well, Mrs. Langan. How are you?"

"Okay, I guess. I'll be better when JJ is awake."

"Is there anything I can do?"

"Would you mind sitting with her for a minute while I go downstairs to meet my husband? I don't want her to be alone."

"It would be my pleasure."

After saying thank you, she leaves the room and I walk around to the left side of the bed, placing the paper and flash drive under JJ's hand.

"I'm truly sorry JJ. I hope some day you're able to forgive me. Get better soon."

A nurse enters and I see an opportunity.

"Can you sit with her until her parents return? They don't want her to be alone but I really have to get to work."

"Sure."

Thanking her, I exit the room and take the stairs. Getting in my car and heading to work I sigh, it's going to be a long day.

All mistakes are mine. Vote, comment, and tell a friend! Not a lot going on in this chapter but more to come in the next. What did the paper say? What's on the flash drive? Why hasn't JJ woken up? All these questions will be answered in chapter 7.
Until next time.
Much love!!
