Trevor's POV:
It's been three weeks since JJ came home from the hospital. We both got the casts off our arms but the one on my leg will probably stay on the full six months. JJ has been going to physical therapy and doing the work but she's still having trouble walking. She spends most of her time on the couch watching TV with Rex laying on the floor in front of the couch. She's still not talking to anybody, not even her therapist. Thankfully for us, we know what she needs even without her verbalizing it.
With us hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year, the place is filled to the brim with people. Hopefully we can make it through the day without any fighting, yeah right. Liv is in the kitchen cooking with Mom, Dad, Liz, Cragen, Casey, Sophia, and Victoria. Mary, Savannah, and Lexi are at the kitchen table, drinking as usual. Liv's parents and brothers are here as well. After coming to the realization that Olivia can't and won't be bullied into doing what they want, they sat down and actually talked. Her parents are in the kitchen while her brothers are on the deck with Calvin, Liam, Fin, Munch, Andy, Dean, Dani, and I. Jason, Cole, and Adam are running around the backyard with their kids; Katie, Kayla, Sadie, Samuel, Axel, and Gavin. I had a talk with them about not only respecting my marriage but also Liv and JJ. I told them what happened in the waiting room the day of the accident better not ever happen again. If they can't respect my marriage, wife, and daughter, then they have no place in my life and that's exactly what I told them. They haven't breathed another negative word since then, at least not in my presence. JJ, Emily, Christian, Valerie, and Vanessa are in the game room. JJ is working on some worksheets the tutor left so she's not behind and can start first grade next year with her friends. The bond that the five of them share is an amazing thing to watch. Even at such a young age they have each others backs through everything. They're very ambitious and they know they want to start a business together in the future.
The ringing of a phone brings me out of my musings. I see Dean on the phone speaking quietly before he hangs up.
"There's been a development in the case. Let's head inside so I don't have to repeat myself."
Everybody on the deck heads inside and spreads out in the kitchen. The chatter that was going on has ceased.
"I just received a call. Agents apprehended Leon and Steven about twenty minutes ago at a bus station, the bus was coming from Miami. About fifteen minutes before that Levi was spotted trying to board a bus to Utah. He ran and agents gave chase. They cornered him and he pulled a gun. When they tried to negotiate with him and get him to drop his weapon he said he wasn't going back to prison and that the real mastermind behind the accident was somebody much closer to Olivia, someone she sees nearly every day before he turned his weapon on himself."
The room is quiet and tense as we all absorb this new information. Could the real mastermind be in this room right now? I know the others are thinking the same thing as I see their eyes darting around the room.
"We may know who that person is."
All heads pivot toward the doorway when Christian speaks. Emily, Valerie, and Vanessa help JJ off Christian's back, after which they move into a half circle around her in case she becomes unsteady. JJ holds up a sheet of paper for us all to see. It's a printout of a yearbook page, the debate team to be more specific. In it are Steven and Leon but it's the blonde haired, blue eyed woman with glasses standing between them that causes a collective gasp throughout the kitchen.
"Alex?" Liv and Casey shriek.
Could Alex Cabot really be the mastermind behind the accident?
