Play Or Die!

Chapter 1

" Honey I'm home." Shawn yelled as he slammed the front door closed.

" In the kitchen." I yelled back as I cut the sandwiches in half.

Grabbing the plate off the counter I walked in the livingroom where he was sitting.

" How was training?" I asked sitting on the love seat.

He rolled his eyes taking a bite of his sandwich.

" You don't have to be rude every time I ask you a question Shawn, I'm just trying to have a conversation with you." I said getting up and walking in the bedroom.

Ever since we moved for his training our relationship has been going down hill. Everyday is the same he leaves at six in the morning doesn't come home till five and when he does all we do is fight.

I jump in the shower before it's time for me to head to my job at a small diner outside the base.

Throwing my work shirt on and grabbing my keys I walked out of the room.

" Are you working again today? You've worked everyday for the past month." He yelled.

" Shawn we go over this every day, I do not want to stay home and let you take care of me, I want to be able to work and make my own money. Now if you will excuse me I am going to be late." With that I walked out the door and left.

When I walked in my friend Aria was talking about some guy came in looking for me saying he hasn't seen me in years and wanted to meet up.

 I was trying to figure out who would be looking for me, I haven't talked to any of my old friends in over five years.

Then my mind started messing me. What if it's Jake? What if they let him out of jail and he's found me? I kept telling myself he's in jail and isn't going to be out for a long time.

" Earth to Alex, Are you okay?" Aria asked snapping her fingers.

Shaking my head I push my thoughts out of my head.

" Yeah sorry, What is it?" I asked trying to get his face out of my mind.

" I asked you if you cared to cover for me tomorrow? I have a baby doctors appointment and can't miss it." She said looking at me weird.

" Yeah sure I don't mind at all." She hugged me tight telling me how much she loves me and how she can't live without me.

When I turned back around I noticed a folded piece of paper laying in front of my hand with my name on it, Opening the paper I started reading.

My dear pet. 
     I hope you've enjoyed these four years because soon I will have you back in my arms but this time you wont be getting away. I've missed you crawling on all fours and being a good girl for me. Can't wait to have you as mine again pet. see you soon.

Dropping the note I started backing up only to trip over Sam causing both of us to fall.

" Are you okay?" I asked.

" I'm fine, Did you not see me walking behind you?" He asked.

The only thing I seen was them words on that paper. " No, I'm so sorry." He helped me up and walked away.

When I went back for the letter it was no where to be found. " Aria, Did you see a piece of paper that was sitting here not even a minute ago?" I asked looking under the napkin holders.

" Alex, I've been standing here for a while and I've not seen anything, Are you sure your okay? I haven't seen you act like this before you act like you've seen a ghost or something." She said pulling up a chair behind me.

" Aria, There was a note sitting right here with my name on it I swear." I said pacing in circles.

" Maybe you should go home, Maybe you should call Shawn to come pick you up because you don't look like you should be driving." She said grabbing the work phone.

Maybe she's right, Maybe it's all in my head.

Aria called Shawn explaining everything he said he was on his way for me not to leave.

I know once I get in the car I will hear nothing but hell from him for days for this.
