Lily frantically rummaged through drawers of different serums and injections and bottles of fluorescent liquids until she found the one she was looking for.

"Memory loss," she announced. "We can give this to the guards whilst they're still passed out, and hopefully when they wake up, they won't remember us breaking in."

"You really think that will work?" Jack asked, his voice dripping with stress. "I mean, they're all bloodied up out there!"

"Do you have any better ideas?" Lily snapped back. "We can clean them up a bit when we pass by. We have to get out of here."

Jade felt paralysed whilst all the commotion went on around her – everyone tried to tidy the mess they'd made and make sure each drawer and cupboard was exactly how it had been when they entered. She couldn't believe Martha's words; she was next.

"Wait, guys, we should read more of this whilst we're here," James suggested. "There's notes on a superior race, or something."

"Lily's right. We have to get out of here before we're caught. We can take the document with us," Anna said.

"They'll know instantly that someone's been in here if we take that," Alyssa argued, and Jade felt more and more like she was going to throw up.

Isaac was the one to grab the files and tuck them into his suit against his chest.

"Look, let's be honest with ourselves, they're going to know we were in here anyway," he said. "There must be cameras and silent alarms and all sorts, whether we had Salim's magical key card or not they will know some sort of breach has happened. So, we may as well take this information. If we steal their fact files on students, maybe we will save someone's life tonight, since they won't know who to test on or what to do next without their records."

Everyone stood in silence for a moment, deliberating whether or not Isaac's idea was a good one, before Lily just loudly sighed.

"He's right, of course they'll know we were here. Let's just take it and go," she said, and they all made their way out of the room and back into the corridor.

Zoe and Anna cleaned the blood from the guards faces as Lily injected them with the memory loss serum, and then they all walked out of the silent building, their footsteps feeling like thunder.

Isaac hid the files under the plant pot outside of the Being's dorms, and then they all made their way back to the party, as if nothing life-changing had happened.

"I won't let anything happen to you, you know," James squeezed Jade's hand as they were met by loud music and the warmth of lots of huddled bodies again. "I promise."

She wanted to believe him, but she knew they were way over their heads now, and she really was fearing for every single student's life.

As they awkwardly danced and tried to make it as though they'd never left, Salim made his way through the crowds towards them.

"Well?" He asked, and they told him everything, and he gasped above even the loud music. "I've been working on something, since they don't let any of us contact the outside world from this prison. It will contact a group of people that I was approached by before I came here. You just have to press the button on it, and they'll get an alert and save you."

"What people?" Jade spoke for the first time since the revelation that she was next on the hitlist.

"I didn't say anything before, because I thought that maybe they were being too drastic, but they were right. We will need them. They will come here and they will save you if you press it, that's all you need to know," Salim essentially just repeated himself, and the confusion and fear was growing frustrating.
