EMMA

"I'm sorry. I was so selfish.. Chase blackmailed me and he..." 

I couldn't talk and Jonah grabs my hand.

"I should have listened to you. I am a horrible best friend. But, I hope saying this will convince you to live. Emma, I'm in love with you. I've liked you ever since we met, but you liked Chase. When you said you would go out with him, I said I wish you'd go out with me."

"I love you, Em. And I can't lose you. I don't regret kissing you in that hot tub. In fact I was nervous to but I just did it and played it off as a joke. Please, live for me. I promise I will be a better boyfriend than I was a best friend." Jonah says as I wipe my face and smile softly.

"I was falling for you. And I really like you Jonah.  I was selfish to try and do this but, I won't do it again...as long as I get to be with you." I say as he smiles.

"Of course Emma, I want you to be with me so I can protect you." he says as I smile and he wipes my tears. 

a few days later at school

I sit in Jonah's car as we pull up at the school and I take a deep breath.

"You don't have to go in there when I do it." Jonah says as I shake my head and he gets out.

He opens my door and I step out. He grabs my hand and I look at everyone. They look at me and I look down. We walk inside and we go to my locker.

"I'm not gonna let him get away with what he did to you. You can keep your back turned if you don't want to see it." Jonah says as I sigh and we hear Chase and his friends.

"I'll be back." Jonah says as I nod and he walks away.

"Chase! What the fuck is wrong with you?! You rape people now?!" Jonah yells.

"Marais, take a breath what are you talking about?" Chase asks.

"You blackmailed Emma, made her look like a whore, and you raped her!" 

"Get the fuck out of my face."

They started fighting and I turn around. I watch Jonah kick Chase in his stomach and Mr. Porter, along with Coach Patrick break them up.

"He's a fucking rapist! I'm telling you! He raped Emma!" Jonah yells as Mr. Porter walks up to me and takes us in his office, closing the door.

We all sit down and he sighs.

"First, Emma, are you okay? I heard about it." Mr. Porter asks.

"I'll be fine once Chase is in jail." I say as he nods.

"So he was the one who blackmailed and raped you?" he asks as I sigh and Jonah grabs my hand, holding it gently.

"Yes." I say, remembering that night then I remember the clubhouse.

"He took me to this place, the first day back. On the side of the baseball field behind the fence. He took a picture of me and put it in a box. It had other pictures in there too." I say as he nods.

"I'm gonna tell the principal and do my best to get him in court, so you can expose him." Mr. Porter says as I nod.

"As for you Mr. Marais; why did you attack Mr. Walker?"

"Because I didn't want him to ever do that to any girl ever again. I wanted to show him it was wrong and that he deserved that ass beating." Jonah says.

"Language."

"Sorry. But you get my point. I've loved this girl for a long time and now I'm in a relationship with her. I mean, Mr Porter how would you feel if that was your wife?" Jonah asks as Mr. Porter sighs.

"I understand your anger, Jonah. I really do. But there is a limit." he says as Jonah scoffs.

"Did you want me to let him get away with that?! Who knows how many other girls he could've done this to!" Jonah yells.

"Do not raise your voice at me." Mr. Porter says.

"I just want Chase to pay for what he did to me. And probably a lot of other girls." I say as they sigh.

"I will do what I can to get you Justice, Emma. You two are dismissed and Jonah, I'll leave this as a warning." Mr. Porter says as we nod and walk out.

Jonah puts his arm around me and we go to class.

Lunch

I sit at the table with Jonah and the boys but I wasn't eating anything.

"I'm sorry, guys... I hope you forgive me for everything." I say.

"No way. We were the ones who ditched you. We're sorry." Corbyn says as I smile softly.

"I guess that makes me feel better..." I say as Jonah grabs my hand and kisses it softly.

"We'll always be here for you, baby. Promise this time" he says smiling and I smile back.

"Now that we aren't emotional right now, are you coming to the baseball spring game?" Jonah asks as I smile.

"Of course." I say as he smiles.

"You guys are gonna fuck some ass at this game." Jack says as we all look at him.

"That was weird and I regret saying that." he says and we all laugh.

"You guys are gonna kill it." I say as Jonah smiles.

"Thanks babe." he says as I smile and hold his hand.

Someone tapped my shoulder and I look back. It was a girl, I had recognized her...let me think.

Chloe Walker, I believe.

"Hey... I wanted to ask you something... Can we talk in private?" she asks as I nod and get up.

We walk into the hallway and she sighs.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Chase is my brother and I know what he did to you... because he did it to many girls. He and the whole baseball team, minus your boyfriend, they have a hangout place, the clubhouse." she says and I think.

"Where is it?" I ask.

"On the side of the field, behind the fence.  They drug girls AND the innocent boys and rape them when they're unconscious. I heard his plan. He was gonna do it to you tonight after the game." she warns.

"He did it to your friends, Zach and Daniel."

"Thanks for telling me." I say as she nods and Chase walks out, looking at us.

"What you guys talking about?" he asks as I pull her away and we walk back in the cafe.

I sit at the table and sigh. Jonah notices and puts his hand on mine.

"You okay baby?" he asks as I shake my head.

"We need a plan. We need to stop Chase. Meet me at my place after school guys." I say as they nod.
