Demi
"Everything from your tests came back clear. We see no reason you won't be able to carry a baby to full term" I released a sigh of relief, giving Matthew's hand a squeeze as it remained wrapped in mine. I began to run my thumb along the back of his hand as Dr James continued. "All we'll need now is the sperm and then we can get you inseminated as soon as we know you're ovulating" I nodded in reply, glancing over at Matthew and Damien who seemed to be taking everything in. "I'm going to prescribe you with some medication for over the next 2 months and that will help us to monitor when you're ovulating."
"How likely is it to work?"
"You're young so the success rates are higher. It usually takes a couple cycles though" I nodded, already knowing that I'd do anything to give Matthew and Damien a baby.
"When will you need the sperm?"
"We'll need it a couple of weeks before we inseminate Demi" a smirk formed on my face as I turned to face them.
"That gives you guys plenty of time to decide who's going to impregnate me" I giggled as Matthew playfully rolled his eyes. I'm always the person who tries to lighten a serious situation.
"On a serious note, it isn't going to be painful for her, is it?" I watched Matthew as concern filled his ocean eyes.
"The procedure is relatively painless. There shouldn't be any pain at all" I gave Dr James a smile as he briefly met my gaze. "I can provide you with some leaflets that contain information on the procedure so you can all prepare yourselves but other than that you're free to go and I'll book you in, Demi, for a couple of weeks' time" I nodded my agreement as Damien leant to grab the numerous leaflets. "And here's your prescription. You can get that started as soon as your next period finishes" I nodded, leaning forward to take the prescription from him. "I'll see you all in a couple of weeks."

"Hi Momma" I smiled as she stepped through the front door, her arms instantly pulling me into a hug.
"Hi Baby" I smiled into her neck, pulling away only when she did. "Hello Babies" she sunk to the floor to fuss Batman and Ella who lapped up all the attention. I shut the front door behind us and began into the open kitchen area. "How have you been then?" I nodded as I grabbed out two glasses so I could pour us both a glass of iced tea.
"I've been good. How have you been? How's dad?"
"We're both good. It's hard not having Maddie at home anymore but we're getting there" I glanced up at mom with a smile.
"I can't believe she's nearly finished college. It only seems like yesterday that I was teaching her how to swear" mom rolled her eyes as I chuckled. I slid one of the glasses of iced tea towards mom who sent me a grateful smile. "I actually have something that I kind of need to talk to you about" I grabbed my own glass of iced tea and began towards the sofa where I took a seat.
"What's going on, Baby?" mom followed me into the living area and took a seat beside me.
"This isn't something that I'm going into lightly. I've thought this through, and I know what I'm getting myself into" mom just looked confused as we locked eyes.
"Okay, Demi. What's going on?" she turned herself on the sofa, so she was directly facing me. Batman had jumped up onto the sofa and had curled himself up, almost on mom's lap.
"I'm in the process of having a..." I looked down at my hands as I twiddled with my fingers, having already lowered my glass of iced tea down onto the coffee table. "I'm in the process of having a-a baby for Matthew and Damian" I chewed on my lower lip and kept my eyes down on my hands as I waited for mom to react in some way, whether that be by words or actions.
"Okay" I looked up at her to see her shock.
"Is that it, just okay? You-You're not going to yell at me?"
"Demi, you're nearly 30. You're old enough to make your own decisions. Why would I yell at you?" I shrugged my shoulders as I glanced back down at my hands, playing with my fingers. "Is this something that you really want to do? Are you really sure that you know what having a baby means? You'll be growing a baby inside you for 9 months; you'll be giving away that baby."
"It's not like I'll never not see the baby. It's Matthew, he's my best friend. It's not like I'm planning to have a baby anytime soon anyway. I want to do something to make them happy."
"Please, tell me that you aren't using your own eggs" I gave mom a sheepish smile as I shrugged. "Oh, Demi."
"It makes it so much easier. They don't have to worry about trying to find an egg donor then" moms fingers began to stroke through my hair as she watched me.
"It's going to make giving this baby up so much harder, you understand that, right?"
"I know, Mom. I know what I'm getting myself into and I'm going to do it because I want to give them a baby. I don't really care what you think anyway, it's my body. I just thought I'd tell you because you are my mom and I'm going to need your support somewhere down the road. It isn't like I'm not old enough to make my own decisions, like you said I'm 6 months away from turning 30."
"Okay, Demi."
"Sorry" she shook her head as she leant forward to grab her glass of iced tea. "You're going to stand by me, right?"
"I'm not going anywhere, Sweetheart" I gave her a smile as she leant to press a gentle kiss to my cheek. "Now, what are we watching?" I smiled over at mom, leaning to cuddle myself into her as I grabbed the tv remote.
