Flower made us stop the bus and he got out for a second. We watched him out the window, as he got a random girl with a sign, for him, to come onto the bus with us. The girl got on, and she stared at her feet. The coach was going to say something, but he stopped, as Flower held one finger to his mouth. He led the girl to his seat, and he was holding the sign now. He sat down after her and the bus started moving again. During the short ride to the airport, we could hear her sobbing softly and Flower calming her. Personally, I felt heartbroken just hearing her, but later, on the plane, I saw her crying as she walked to the bathroom.

It made me feel empty inside. Once we arrived in Pittsburgh, Fleury told us all, “I need one of you to take care of her for tonight. Her boyfriend just broke up with her at the game and she said she is going to find her family tomorrow” Then Sutter asked, “Why don’t you just take her home with you?” Flower raised an eyebrow and everyone shut up. Everyone looked at her and all the dating/ married men, left. I yawned and then shrugged, before saying, “I guess I can take care of her?” Fleury cheered and hugged me. Then he whispered, “Take good care of her. Her mother babysat me when I was a child. We’re 2nd cousins”

My jaw dropped and he left. How coincidental was this? Then I picked her up and gave her a piggy-back ride, to my car. Once I lifted her, I could already feel my lower body aching. I winced and continued. I got to my car and as I gently put her in the passenger seat, she mumbled, “Bennett. Injured” My breath hitched and my face flushed. Okay, so she knew me. And she saw me get hurt. Great. I then climbed into the driver’s seat and started the car, and turned up the heat. I looked over at the girl. She was frowning in her sleep. A tear fell onto her cheek and I reached over and wiped it away, gently.

Whoever broke her heart must’ve been a complete asshole. I mean, look at her, she’s gorgeous. She has chocolate hair with blonde ombre, and I haven’t seen her eyes yet, but her lashes are incredibly long and dark. She was wearing very little makeup, and she had the cutest nose I’ve ever seen. I pulled out of the parking lot and started driving home. We were almost to my house when I had to stop at a stoplight. I looked over at the girl, and tears were flowing from her eyes as she mumbled, “No. Please” I cursed under my breath and once the light turned green, I sped home, quickly.

I got to my house and pulled into the garage. Then I got out and carried her bridal style, into the house and up the stairs. I pulled out the comforter, and gently laid her on my bed, before covering her with the comforter. Then I pulled out a shirt and pair of sweatpants for her to wear in the morning. She had stopped crying now, and fell asleep completely. Something came over me and I kissed her forehead and whispered, “You’re beautiful” before pulling out an extra comforter, pillow, and blanket, for myself. I set them on the floor, and lay down. Then I fell asleep.
