Neville's POV

My name is Neville Longbottom. Heir to the Longbottom house, but likely that will change soon. Alice had another child, and her name is Rose. She hates me, even though she's only seven. Alice and Frank will make her the Longbottom heir soon enough.

The parents who I don't even call Mum and Dad. They lost that right a long time ago, when they decided that they'd rather love the Potters' oldest son; Jay, instead of me. My only solace is sneaking over to the left wing of the Potter Mansion, which is what I'm about to do now.

I climb out the window of my room (The smallest in the mansion.) and walk the short distance to Harry's house. Harry is my best and only friend, who has also been neglected in favor of his older brother, (Can you guess who?) Jay. The reason for all of our troubles is Jay. But I put that aside as I use the rope by the back of the left side of the mansion. I tug on it three times and a door opens besides me.

I enter the vast library, the area where Harry has resided for the majority of his life. But Harry won't meet me down here, he never does. I find a ladder that is used for getting to the books that are higher up on the shelves. Once I reach the top, I jump onto one of the many shelves. The rafters are close now, so I crawl on the book to the closest one. When I get there, I pull myself up and onto it, which is quite a feat considering I'm malnourished and have zero upper body strength because of it.

I walk across the rafters to get to the ventilation system, which I pull open and crawl through. Soon enough, I come to a ladder. I climb it and now, finally, I'm at my destination. The attic. The floor is one way glass, so I can see the library below yet no one else can. I walk to the window and pull up the rope. The door that I had used to get into the library was already closed.

There are two beds in the attic, both in red, yellow, and gold. The reason behind this was that both of Harry's parents were in Gryffindor, so the house was majorly Gryffindor themed. A bookshelf sat next to the window, filled with whatever books Harry was currently reading. The rug was red, yellow, and gold. There was a nightstand in the middle of the two beds. There was also two desks near the trapdoor. One had a painting of the Hogwarts crest and Neville's name on it, the other being the same thing but with Harry's name on it.

"Hiya, Neville!" I turned around and saw Harry coming through the trapdoor. "Sorry I'm late," he said. "I was getting some food from the house elves. They can't get in here because it's so heavily warded, courtesy of you and I." "No problem, and thanks." I say. I'm hungry, I haven't had anything to eat since Monday. It's Thursday now.

I wolf down everything on my plate in seconds. "The house elves here make amazing food!" I tell Harry. He responds with, "Yeah, I think they only do it for me, though. They've taken care of me since Jay became the boy who lived." I feel really bad all of a sudden, as if I'm going to puke. Harry sees my expression and gestures to the bathroom door. I run in and hurl up the lunch I just ate.

When I come out, Harry is deathly silent, his eyes wide in shock. "What?" I ask. "Shhh!" I hear voices from below us, in the library. I see Harry's parents, Dumbledore, and—wait, what? My parents? They sit down in front of the fireplace. Mr. Potter, or James, as Harry has instructed me to call him, lights it.

"Now, I've called you here because Voldemort isn't dead," Dumbledore says gravely. I gasp, though it's covered up by the adults in the room below's gasps. Harry gives me a warning look, and I return it. "you see, Jay only sent him into hiding. He is now a vengeful wrath, seeking revenge and rejuvenation. Jay will need all the help he can get to defeat the dark lord. I have a plan, but it would require your permission, as it involves Harry and Neville." Harry and I exchange looks.

"Go on." Lily says. Dumbledore continues, "To make Jay stronger, we should take Harry and Neville's magic and give it to Jay. We could obliviate them to make them think they've always been squibs. They wouldn't ever be the wiser. Bring them to the castle tomorrow, and I will do the ritual. Do I have your permission?" To my horror, James immediately shouts yes, and Frank follows. Lily and Alice look at each other with horrified looks, but their husbands shoot them glares and they give their permission. "I'll see you tomorrow." With that, Dumbledore walks outside. Frank and Alice leave soon after.
