[Gretchen's POV]

My eyes slowly opened, meeting the chest of the one and only Zayn Malik. I was snuggled into his bare torso and I removed my hands from around him.

Zayn looked so peaceful, I almost didn't want to leave. But it just wasn't right. I couldn't have feelings for Zayn. It would just ruin everything.

So I slipped out of bed and changed back into my clothes. I wrote Zayn a note and packed up my backpack, slinging it over my shoulder I walked out of the room.

My classes were starting soon but I had enough time to shower and change so I quickly visited my dorm, Perrie was already gone.

I got a shower and all that fun stuff, not caring about my appearance I threw on some joggers and a crop top, calling it a day. I didn't even take the time to blow dry my hair, just threw it up in a messy bun, and off I was to my first class.

Classy like a pro. I couldn't help but feel empty without Zayn. My body felt bare. Something isn't right. Or maybe the fact that something's right is the real issue.

[Zayn's POV]

I stifled a groan, that resulted in a large yawn as I opened my eyes.

Gretchen had already left. My clothes were stacked in a neat pile on my dresser and a small piece of paper sat on top of that.

I swung my legs off my bed and got up, stretching my arms in attempt to crack my back. I yawned again, boy I was tired, and smiled in contentment after hearing a successful crack.

I picked up the note and read it:

Zayn,

Sorry I didn't stay longer. My first class starts soon and I have to go back to my dorm to change. Thanks for all the math help and stuff! I'll have to repay you somehow. Anyway have a good day, see you in math! Hope you slept well.

-Gretchen :)

I smiled after reading the note and neatly placed it in one of my drawers where I held my secret stash of birthday cards and notes from people. It was pretty bare since my mum was the only person who sent me a birthday card year after year.

Anyways, I put on a pair of skinny jeans and a red sweater after getting a quick shower. I had read the temperature would be in the low 60's so I wanted to be prepared.

I neatly combed my hair into a quiff, and gelled it to make it stay. I pushed my sleeves up my arm a little, showcasing some of my many tattoos.

Each one had a specific meaning, I glanced at the peace sign one. I thought about its purpose, trying to plaster a smile on my face.

My face returned to a frown and I sighed. I still had to catch breakfast. So in three large strides I slipped my backpack over one of my shoulders and threw open my door. I braced myself for the chilly air as it smacked me across the cheek. Within seconds my nose was tinted red and I was slightly shivering.

I reluctantly chose to eat my breakfast on campus. The disgusting slop served here shouldn't be legal. But due to my forgetfulness in setting my alarm, I woke up late which gave me no time to drive to McDonalds up the road.

Going through the line I stuck with a simple muffin and apple. Not wanting to be poisoned too much, I only ate the muffin, saving the apple for class later in the day.

Not wanting to be too late, or too early, I left the cafeteria so I could start heading to my first class. But I walked slow, so I could keep up my bad boy reputation and enter the class fashionably late.

"Zayn." Gretchen whined. "Please switch the song." she pleaded.

"Fine, anything for you love," I rolled my eyes sarcastically and changed music stations.

Gretchen agreed to come to dinner with me. But it took some great amount of persuasion. She already feels guilty about me tutoring her and Gretchen doesn't want me to buy her dinner.

But it would be rude not to pay for dinner since I was the one to invite her. So we compromised on her paying the tip. Little did she know, I would give it back to her secretly somehow. It's just against guy code to let a girl pay for dinner. You just don't do it.

I watched as she flipped her head from side to side. Her hair moving in a whiplashing movement.

"NO I WONT ACT MY AGE, NO I, WONT ACT MY AGE, NO I'LL STILL FEEL THE SAME AROUND YOU!" Gretchen belted the lyrics and moved her hands so they were resting on the top of her head.

After chuckling quietly to myself throughout the rest of the drive to the restaurant, we made it.

Gretchen got out of the car quickly and sped up the steps of the Olive Garden. Her red high low dress flowed in the breeze and I couldn't help but plaster a grin on my face as her personality shone.

She looked happy. She wore converse with this dress, therefore her try at a fancy attire was not completely fulfilled. But Gretchen could rock this look. She looked beautiful.

I locked my car and met her up at the door. I held it open for Gretchen as we entered the restaurant.

We were seated at a small two person booth towards the back and the waitress handed us our menus. I smiled at her and then turned my attention to Gretchen.

"I don't want to get anything too expensive." she told me not removing her gaze from the menu.

"You can get whatever you want." I chuckled and lifted up my menu and brought it to my face.

I had the teddy bear in my car. Should I do this now? Should I?
