The morning sun came up and with it people rise with smiles on their faces. On a small apartment, one person woke up feeling like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Taking a look at her clock, her eyes widened when she realised she's late for class.

"Shit!" The dark-haired girl quickly got out of her bed, she brushed her teeth, putting the first clothes she could get her hands on before running out of her small room.

Kim Dahyun ran as fast as she can towards the University about three streets away. Even if she knew she'd be more late if she go by foot, she doesn't have a choice but to run because of her money problem. When she did arrive at campus, her first class is nearly over so she opted to go to her second class of the day. Finding a reasonable sit away from everyone, Dahyun let out a sigh as she waited for the class to start.

"Good morning," Their professor greeted, "Get your books, chapter nineteen, page 88, answer the problems."

Students proceeded to take out their books and begin to do what the professor said. Dahyun leaned in to get her book and when she couldn't feel its hard surface, she frantically look inside her bag to see it empty of no books at all. Dahyun let out a groan as she drop her head on her desk, she began to wonder what's with all the misfortunes this early in her day, not to mention this professor is known for his completely harsh put downs to the students who makes even the smallest mistakes.

Left with no choice, Dahyun walked up to her professor, "Excuse me, Sir. I don't have my book with me today, I'm sorry."

"Why don't you have it when you know we have class today?" The professor spoke sternly.

"I was running late this morning, sir, I forgot-" Dahyun said softly.

"What's happening with you these days, Kim Dahyun?" Her professor scolded, "You're grades are slipping up and now you're showing irresponsibility!"

"I'm sorry, sir, things have been difficult lately-" Dahyun spoke but was cut off once again by the angry professor.

"That's no excuse!"

Dahyun opted to stay silent, knowing full well not to make her professor angrier than he already is. Besides, what he's been saying is true, her grades are getting bad, having multiple part-time jobs is taking a toll on her and her body can't keep up.

"Kim Dahyun, there's no excuse for your irresponsibility, I suggest you get out of my-" The angry professor was then cut off by a soft voice.

"If it's alright with you, I can share my book with her, Sir."

Both the professor and Dahyun turned to look at the owner of the voice. Dahyun immediately recognized her, who wouldn't, the voice belongs to no other than the famous Japanese beauty, Hirai Momo, one of the good popular students around campus. Momo had a polite smile as she turned to the professor, waiting for his answer.

"We couldn't possibly burden you," The professor said as he glared at Dahyun.

Momo shook her as she gave off a polite smile, "It's not a problem at all, I'm happy to help."

"Well, alright then," Their professor smiled as if he hadn't just humiliated a student a while ago in front of the class. Momo bowed her head before staring at Dahyun. The poor girl wasted no time in getting out of her professor's space as she ventured towards Momo's desk.

When Dahyun realised that Momo's eyes are still on hers, she blushed in embarrassment, "You really didn't need to face the professor's wrath, but thank you," She said to the Japanese.

Momo smiled kindly as she spoke, "Yeah well he's a known bully, the least I can do is save you from his spiteful tirades."

Even with the lingering heavy feelings in her, Dahyun couldn't help but feeling a bit hopeful that despite the unlucky start, today might not be that bad. Both girls then decided to start working on the given task, not wanting to push their professor's anger any more. For the rest of the class, Dahyun caught on that Momo is unsurprisingly a good student, she's diligent in taking notes and kind in correcting Dahyun's mistakes.
