Without You

Shanice places a red long-stem rose on his casket as she cries.
"I will always love you"
she whispered while placing a kiss to her hand placing it to his casket.

She stands back as they lower the casket in the ground as Jerome stood by her holding her hand.

As the casket is down in the ground, Shanice couldn't cry anymore than she was. She lost the man she loved and was devastated.

"You ready to go Neece?"
"Yea I'm ready..we gotta go to the hospital"
"I know.. I'll drive okay"
"Sure.."

As Jerome is driving, Shanice kept replaying over and over again in her mind what happened with Trey and Marcus.

"Rome?"
"Wassup Neece"
"You think it could've been different if I haven't met Marcus?"
"No?..why you say that?"
"I could've stayed in the cartel minding my business being miserable, but I fell in love with Marcus and that's all it wrote."

"We can't predict what will happen when we get with someone.. look at me.. I lost Stacy because of Wade.. and I loved her very much Neece"

"I know you loved Stacy.. she couldn't stop talking about you.. I miss her so much"
"I know..she was like a sister to you"
"She was my sister Rome..it's just Marcus was the first man to ever love me like he does since Trey..and I fell for him and he did too"
"I know.." as Jerome nods and continues driving.

Shanice puts her head down while Jerome grabs her hand
"It's gonna be okay Neece.. take it one day at a time.. it's gonna get better I promise"

They make it to the hospital and head to the room. Shanice sits down in the chair next to the bed while Jerome sits by the window.

"Hey.."
"Hey..how you feeling?"
"Sore as hell Neece"
"You need the nurse for meds?"
"No I'll be okay.. I just had some two hours ago"
"I just came back from the funeral"
"I know that wasn't easy for you.."
"No it wasn't..it was hard to say goodbye, closing that chapter"
"Neece it's okay I understand it was hard for you"
"It was.."

The doctor comes in and knocks on the door...

"Okay Mr. Johnson... it looks like we caught the bullet that was close to your heart..if it was about an inch closer, you wouldn't be here speaking to us right now.. other than that recovery time is crucial for the next month or so and a checkup from your doctor"

Shanice and Jerome went to Trey's funeral earlier so Shanice can say her final goodbye to Trey.
When Wade shot him, the bullet was in between his organs and damaged his abdomen.
When the hospital did surgery to remove the bullet, he flatlined and tried to revive him but didn't recover.

Shanice knew what happened when the doctor came out with the look on his face and she started crying.

"He's gone isn't he?"
"I'm sorry Ms.Taylor.. the bullet damaged his abdomen and when we tried to remove it, he started bleeding uncontrollably...we tried to revive him but it was too late."

Trey saved Shanice's life from Wade. She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. She wanted to make sure he had a proper funeral and say her final goodbye.

Since he couldn't be buried in New York with his real name, she buried him in New Orleans where he loved going to.

She paid for his burial plot and made sure he went out as the man that she loved. On his headstone, it said:
