After Cynder's relevation, I stormed out of my room and down the stairs. A few heads poked out of rooms on my way down, but I ignored them, even though I had absolutely no clue where I was going. But that was just a minor detail.
After a while, I picked up his scent again, and I followed it. It lead me through some corridors to an office. I grabbed the doorknob and took a deep breath. I heard something slamming, then a thud. Alarmed, I forgot all about knocking and marched right on in.
Wearing nothing but some shorts, the alpha was roundhouse kicking a hanging bag filled with rice or something. The concentration on his face was alarming. It was hot.
Kick. Thud. Kick. Thud. He kicked and kicked and kicked, not even noticing me. I began to slowly close the door, then remembered that he had slammed my door, so it was payback time.
With a vengeful "SLAM!", the door slammed crashed into the frame, shaking the thin wall. Alpha Carter's head jerked up and his blue eyes glared into my eyes. Seeing who it was, they softened slightly, but they were still hard.
"Annabeth. What are you doing here?"
Oh, you know, just being pissed at my ridiculously hot mate because-because...Why was I angry again?
Alpha Carter walked closer to me, eyeing my lips, then his gaze darted to mine. I gasped for breath, trying to remember to how to breath, let alone why I was mad. His dark brown hair was mussed up naturally, a strand hanging on his forehead. I unconciously reached up and brushed it out of his face, then began to put my hand back down.
But his hand shot up and grabbed my wrist. I tensed, but he was calm and gazed questioningly at me. He put my hand on his face, and I felt the roughness of the scrabble of a beard he had. It was actually kind of a turn on. Plus the electricity flowing between us. Was it hot in there, or was it just me?
I think he knew the lines of what I was thinking, because he chuckled and bent in to kiss me. I leaned into it, but at the last second turned away because I couldn't do it. I had tried, for the alpha's sake. But my last boyfriend had ruined me. If you could even call him that. But anyways, Alpha Carter missed my lips and ended up kissing my cheek.
I pulled back, turning my head even farther away so he couldn't see my embarrassment. He reached up and turned my face to his.
"What's wrong?"
I felt horrible. He sounded hurt. And it hurt me internally. I went to hug him, but that's when I remembered he was half naked. And I had a horny wolf to deal with. (It was my time of the month, so I'm guessing that was one reason she wanted to do so many disturbing things with Alpha Carter.)
"Alpha, I'd rather not talk about it right now." I turned on my heel as I walked out of the room.
Well, I tried to. I felt his muscular arms snake around me, and pull me to his chest. Oh well. You can't say I didn't try. I gave in to his persistence. Well, with one demand.
"Can we talk somewhere else? This room stinks like sweat." I blushed after that. I honestly don't know why. I was used to speaking my mind. I didn't have a filter on what came out of my mouth, ususally. So you can understand why I didn't know why I blushed. Which only made me blush harder.
His chuckle rumbled his chest, pressing his six pack against my back.
"Whatever makes you happy, princess." he said.
He slipped his shirt back on, his hands leaving my sides for a mere second, but it felt like forever.
Holy shit. Like, two hours after meeting this guy, I was turning mushy. Not good. Definitely not good.
