Chapter 3 - Mrs. Kane

After lunch we went to our classes we always have scheduled. I walked to mine and opened the door. There was my teacher, Mrs. Kane, The owner of this hell-hole. She had her hair grey and tied up in a high bun, And he face was fox like. She always wore long skirts and white turtle necks, Even if its one hundred degrees outside.
"Good Afternoon Mrs. Kane" I tried to say my best, but it sounded more like "Gud afternum, Mrz Kan,". Despite that, she smiled. We're forced to tell the evil woman good morning of good afternoon everytime we walk into her classroom. If we dont (I know this is outdated, but Mrs Kane beleives in it) She actually smackes us on the hands with rulers.
Some people say Mrs. Kane lost her mind. She had a horrible childhood, her parents basically tortured her. Now, She's trying to take it out on people without parents she wants classrooms like she had as a child, because she beleive schools now are "UNORGANIZED" and a "DISCRASE" The classroom still had a chalkboard, Old wooden desks, and all that.
I was first in the class, and everyone else hesitantly came back in. Mrs. Kane turned round from the chalkboard and smiled showing her teeth "Good Afternoon children," she said in a bitter voice, "Good Afternoon," We all replied. I had to say it again. She walked away from the board, Showing a set of maths problems "COPY THEM!" she yelled.
I pulled a piece of paper and a pencil out of my desk and copied them down, Struggling with some, I wasnt the smartest kid ever. Probably because they teach us horribly here. I was finally done, The first one done. Some people were here before, and have a very bad education.
I turned the paper into Mrs. Kane at her desk "How were you done so quickly?" She demanded. She put her glasses on the edge of here nose. "I just knew them al," I mumbled through my stitches, She glared at me "CAROLINE YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY CHEATING!!!!" she screamed "Im not i swear!" I yelled back but then regretting it.
She smacked me across the face, Hard. I felt pain across my cheek and wanted to cry more than ever, "Mask face, take her back to her dormitory," Mrs. Kane ordered Lori. I turned and saw Lori stand up and lead me out of the classroom. Lori's mask is like those plain white ones. It wasn't the overhead one it was one with a strap, Which they stitched to her head, They glued the mask to her face.
She lead me back to my room, Nodded, and shut the door. I sat on my bed and curled my knees up to my chest, Wishing more than ever to see my mum again.
