Chapter 5 - Immoratality

I was planning my escape all night and then we went down to the cafateria in the morning. Instead of serving us food, Mrs Kane stood infront of the room. She had an announcement. "Today, A punishment (if possible) will be removed from you. We will be having men coming  here and they can not do what they're doing." She said  

I wanted to jump up and down and scream. Who knows what they're doing?  I didnt care I would be somewhat  free again. They started naming everyone in alphabetical order. If there punishment was something like Beth's and traumitized them I dont think they can do anything, I dont know what they would do to Helena though.

Pretty soon I heard a familiar name "Lori Hamilton." I heard the chair next to me scoot and I saw the back of her head walked out of the doors and followed Mrs Kane somewhere, About 5 minutes later, Lori came out and her mask was completely gone. I could see her pale face, even though it was sweaty. Her blonde hair was messed up, but she looked .........Happy.

They went down the list and finally reached my name. I sat up and walked out of the door and followed Mrs Kane to the doctors office I lay down on the bed and she left. After Mrs Kane left the Nurse Miss Jay came in.

She grabbed a pair of scissors and slowly cut off each of my stitches. It didnt hurt  probably because she was doing it slowly and carefully. When she was done I sat up and she smiled at me. I heard Miss Jay doesn't want to work here, She just does because she cant find a job anywhere else. Miss Jay is nice, and I hope she gets a Job out of here some day. 

I left back into the cafeteria, And pretty soon everyone with Psychical punishment was cured. We were all so happy it was unbelievable. Pretty soon some scientists walked in. There was about 20 of them.

They explained an experiment that they will perform on or at least try too. I didn't understand it. "How would you like to be immortal?" The front one asked. I thought about it. It might be pretty cool, Never dieing and stuff...

I raised my hand, along with almost everyone else at the orphanage. The only person who didnt raise their hand was eight year old Nicole Cail.

"Well we will have to perform surgery on you. We will have to activate the killswitch inside your brain, If it fails then, You will DIE. Any questions? Nobody raised their hands "Good, lets get started."
