Change of Plans

"Do I have to daddy?" the five year asked looking up at her two toned haired male who was fumbling with the seatbelt making sure she was buckled in while her brother had already dozed off in his carseat.

"Yes Sana you have to go"

Shoto tried his best not to make eye contact with his daughter's face knowing she would be doing her best puppy eyes. He was running late being stuck in traffic coming back from his own classes on his way to pick the twins up from school. It doesn't help that he needs to head back home and change for work along with dropping the twins off at daycare. He shut the car door making his way in the driver seat.

He glanced up in the rearview mirror as he started to pull out of his parking spot taking a look at Sana seeing she was still doing the puppy eyes and even added her bottom lip pout. He sighed out feeling weak seeing his daughter but had to put his foot down "Sana no. You and your brother are gonna go to daycare" giving the young girl a slight smile "it be fun I promise."

The drive back to their apartment was quiet, Sana had lost the fight and shoto was racing the clock. This wouldn't be the first time he would be late but knowing he would have to get there earlier than he needs so he could make up the time he missed.

With no laws so far being broken Shoto pulled into the familiar parking lot pulling in an open spot leaving the car on as he rushed from one end to another to get the twins unbuckled and out of their seats. He ended up just carrying Eui into the brick building having Sana help the best she could with carrying their small bags and pushing the door.

"I'll see you both soon" placing Eui down ruffling the sleepy boy's hair along with Sana who giggled

"Be good and watch over your brother" getting a small nod from Sana.

He watched his daughter grab hold of her brother's hand leading the way. He didn't watch for any longer going over to do his signature in the sign in sheet and had jogged back to the car.

At work he was able to clock in about being 15 minutes late. He walked out to the front tying the apron around his waist "i'll take over" telling his coworker who has been juggling both the register and the coffee machines.

"Oi! Where the fuck were you?" his coworker, Bakugo asked, handing two drinks over to Denki then walked back to his position.

"I was dropping my younger siblings off in daycare." Other than his boss knowing he wants to keep Sana and Eui a secret from the others not really caring for the looks but he wanted the same type of treatment as the next young adult. Even though he didn't care he didn't want others sympathy for the life choice he chose for himself. As so far everyone at work knows the twins as his younger siblings who he is stuck with while his parents work and that's how he wanted it to stay. There is a reason why he moved closer to his university...will there's a few other reasons but manly to start fresh and away from others who would know him.

Bakugo tsked along with an eye roll "just don't expect me to take over your shift again."

Shoto could only nod relief he didn't push for more answers.

When it came to Shoto lunch break he sat at a table in the corner away from the others enjoying the somewhat quietness while he worked on some of his school work. He wasn't sure after work he would even be awake enough to get some done so he took this time to work. In one hand he held one of the fresh muffin Ochaco had made and in another was his pencil writing out some notes from last class slides.

With a gentle tap from Ochaco she smiled down at him "hey Shoto I was wondering if you'll be free tonight." This made him stop writing, looking up at his coworker seeing her bubbly smile. The two actually go to a class together along with the other people they work with.

"Why?" he asked. She quickly seemed flustered as she tried to get her words out "oh..um I may of...will I didn't fully mention but he asked about you. So I was wondering your free to meet him."

Shoto sat there having a odd feeling in his stomach it was more bubbly and his chest felt warm hearing someone had asked. He wasn't sure if he should be worried or delighted by this fact. Yet he declined once more "I'm busy."

Ochaco confusedly titles her head "again?" Last shift she had asked if he wanted to study with a couple of students from their class.

"yes again and any other time" he told her going back to his notes "I have homework to do".

Ochaco didn't give up, placing her hands down on the table looking at him "please Shoto I...I'll cover your shift if you're late again."

A sigh left him, pinching his temples "no Ochaco I don't have anyone to help watch the twins everyone busy" and the thought of them tagging along worried him. He can trust Sana to play along if he asks but Eui, oh the small boy has a harder time keeping the act. The first time he tired this was when he was doing a video chat with a student for a project they both had been working on. Eui had walked up to Shoto calling him daddy luckily Sana was there to save her dad.

Before she could beg some more his phone vibrated informing them both that his lunch break was over. He packed up everything placing it all right back in his bag and was off back behind the counter leaving her there. Ochaco turned having a small pout on her face but like always she wasn't giving up that easy pulling her phone out from one of the apron pockets sending a quick text to her friend then went off for her own break.
