How we became homeless

We weren't always homeless. We lived in a two story house. Me my dad Flower and Mom. It kinda escalated until it got bad. It first started when the government said they were going to start drafting. So men were offering to go in the military so others didn't get pulled from their homes. And our dad left but promised to come back. We prayed everyday that he would be safe but one day we got a call he had been killed. They sent us his uniform. My mother was sick. But she was depressed after her husband died and I think it facked her up more when they sent her back his uniform. And in our tent we do still have his uniforms. Our mother was supposed to go to the doctor Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to make sure she wouldn't die. But soon she wouldn't get out of bed. Then she stopped eating. Then she stopped coming out of her room. We were all concerned. But every time we talked to her she would tell us to go away. Then finally she didn't answer. So me and Flower almost broke the door down but when we finished was saw her skin was white. And there was a note on the desk near her bed. Me and Flower picked it up but she read it in her head because I couldn't read to good.

Dear Ann and Flower.

You to were my lovely children. And you will always be. By the time you get this I'll be passed looking over my beautiful angels waiting for you to come home to me. I didn't do this because i hates you, I did it because your father met so much to me and I tried to tell my self you were more important but I couldn't help my self. I wanted to be with him. So I'm sorry. And Flower I have a favor to ask. Always take care of you sister. Even when she gets on you nerve love her like I would. Because I wont be here anymore to stop your fights and arguments. And wherever you decide to go, always take your father uniform and my necklace. I used that last bit of my energy to write this. I was the last important thing I wanted to do before I left. I'm am very sorry I didn't get to say goodbye.

Love, Mom.

I remember Flower siting down crying. "Sissy what did it say." Trying to be brave she wiped the tears from her face. It says that mom took a nap and needs to go to the hospital." She took her phone and called 911 and told me to stay inside. She went outside and talked. Then 5 minutes later I saw the ambulance. Two men with a rolling bed came in and took her. I know we got in the back and went to the hospital. They said she was gone and there's nothing they could do. I cried. A while later a car took us home. We lived with out her for months and I saw my sister sad all the time. I saw notes that said aren't due,. Electric due, water due. She cried even harder. Then one day I saw a note with big red letters. It said:

I showed it to her and she cried so much I had to open the front door to let her tears drain out

I showed it to her and she cried so much I had to open the front door to let her tears drain out. I never understood what was going on because it was happening so fast.  Flower was packing all our stuff. Out clothes, toys, water and finally food. She told me to only take things we need. The she grabbed money from moms dresser and she told me to come on. I've never been back there. I know she took us to a curb and got a box and I We sat in it. One night while we were sleep these people with guns told us to give them our stuff. We did and they ran down the street. But Flower kept the money hidden. So she ought a tent and we live there to this day. I stayed in those clothes for a year and a half. But of course Flower spent the money getting a tent. So she got a job. And she would wash my clothes. Then once we met Madison, I stayed in my dress for another month. But one day it was storming and raining. Really hard. So flower folded out tent and tied it to a tree and prayed it wouldn't come off. Then she took us to her join and begged to let us stay until the weather cleared up. She did. She let us stay until the storm was over and the ground wasn't wet. It was the best. They were rich and cooked a big meal. They had food I've never tried before. It was so yummy me and Mal didn't stop eating until we felt 8 months pregnant. Then the cooked a big dinner. And we got to eat to. Then she gave us new dresses and let us use her shower. It was the first time I used a real shower for a year and a little over a half. Then three of the maids did our hair. I actually felt like a Queen. Wanted to own a castle. But I was sad once we had to leave. But as we were waiting I heard the lady flower worked for ask her where were we living. She told her a regular tent. And she said she couldn't buy us a house but she did give Flower enough money to buy us a water proof tent. So that's how we got here. And sometimes I hate it when people assume things like we did something bad and our parents left us or our parents abandoned us. No. They are just dead.
